We are disturbed by a knock on the door, and I turn against it. “Come in,” I say, and Silas comes inside. “Silas, did the run help?” I ask him. “Yes, and I have news. Strangers have come to the shore in some strange-looking boats. They look like wild men and women with a lot of weapons.” He tells me, and all my focus is on him. “What? Did you talk to them?” I ask him.

Seething with hatred, I allowed the phone to slip through my fingers and fall into the sea with a plop. Larry wheeled on me right then, glaring at me furiously and started to swim toward me for another scolding. That was when a violent splashing echoed from the distance. Soon, a shiver of great white sharks appeared. Each shark was massive, but they rarely attacked unprovoked. Just seeing them left me shuddering uncontrollably, but Heidi's eyes lit up and dragged Larry along to the sharks, while beckoning for everyone to follow. When they had gone far enough, she turned to smirk at me.

We rushed forward, hoping it was a small fall, hoping it was nothing serious. But when we reached the edge, we saw it. A very high cliff. Below it, a massive ocean stretched wide and angry. We screamed his name as we saw him in the water. He was struggling. Horris did not know how to swim. He did not even know how to scream for help. The waves tossed him around like he was nothing. We cried and shouted for him to hold on, to stay up, to fight. He struggled. He fought the water with everything he had.

Not like this, at least! I hated them for spinning lies around me, for stealing my name and my work. If I had a chance at life again, I would never let them get away with it. I would make them pay. Suddenly, a beam of light broke through. I realized the restraints binding me had been undone. I closed my eyes, letting the sunlight wash over me, that faint warmth giving me a thread of comfort. When I opened them again, a familiar face filled my vision. His eyes widened, and I could see a red tint gradually climbing into them. "Why are you here, Cassidy?"

I followed Rose through the crowd as she tugged me toward a small group. “Liam, this is Shaurya my best friend ,” She said. Shaurya smiled, extending a hand. “Pleasure to meet you.” I shook it, eyeing him briefly. Shaurya looked Indian, but there was something cold in his expression. The warmth or gentleness that I had often seen in the people in India is missing . His gaze was too sharp, his smile too calculated, just like that of a spy . We walked over to other friends , I greeted them politely.

A shadow ran into the forest. "Is anyone there?" He calls out, there was no response. "Answer me goddammit." He cursed, getting annoyed at the expensive joke he thought one of the students were playing on him. He heard the bush rattle, he shone the flashlight to the direction, walking slowly, he gasps as the flashlight points at a man holding an axe, frightened, Peterson dropped the flashlight and started walking backward slowly as the man stepped out of the bush, wearing all black, he stood before Peterson, Peterson noticed he had a claw like scar in his left chin.

"None of your business." “Wrong answer ,” I said. He smirked. “Or what?” I didn’t give him time to finish. I tackled him , wrestled Sharon free.. “Run !” I told her. “Go!!”

How pace aligned without instruction. Midday brought heat. The wind turned dry. They paused beneath a lone tree for shade. It was small. Its branches thin. But it offered enough cover to soften the glare. You do not ask questions. The stranger’s voice broke the quiet. She leaned back against the trunk. Some answers are not ready yet. The stranger studied the horizon. And if they never are. Then they were not needed. A faint smile crossed their face. You are certain. No. But I am steady.
