I stood off to the side and continued to watch the chaos ensue. Each of them got a cake and rushed off with their prize like a couple of children. I stood there trying not to laugh as I shook my head. Briar walked up to me with his cake and took a bite. His eyes closed and he hummed at what he was eating. I could see the happiness written all over his face because of what he was tasting. “So what is that?” I asked. “A huckleberry swirl. It's a potato flapjack with huckleberry cream frosting. It’s amazing. Do you want a bite?” Briar offered me a taste.

I just can't believe it looked like I never left. Grandma opened the cabinet filled with small baskets of fruits. Oranges, green apples, blue and black berries which I don't know where they get those, mangoes, guava which I haven't tasted that in my life, pineapple, dragon fruit which I wonder if Emilia Clarke the mother of dragons in Game Of Thrones planted those like how she raised her dragon offspring, kerson fruit berries and some fruit I never seen before. I looked around and recognized paintings with my signature. Paintings I threw last year. I wonder how these stuffs got here.

Leny hugged her even tighter and walked towards the direction of lounge. Jessie looked at Sally who was in the back counter for help. Sally smiled and did a reassuring gesture to her. "Come, come, come. This is the blueberry dragon cake. Try the taste." Leny brought a plate of blueberry dragon cake and sat beside her. She picked up a piece and was going to feed it to Jessie. Jessie was flattered and nervously smiled, "I will do it myself. Thank you Big Sis Leny."

Andrew moves his big arm out super fast and grabs Stella’s waist to keep him steady. Stella looks up into Andrew's face and smiles real sweet. "Thank you, Andrew," he says. His voice is super soft and high, and the sound comes right through the phone into my ear. I cannot look at them anymore. I turn my face away into the bark of the tree. My throat feels full of sharp rocks. "Is someone standing next to you, Andrew?" I whisper. "No," Andrew says real quick. "Did you eat the sweet wild berry cakes and honey pastries I sent to the lodge from the Blissful Bites shop this morning?"

Tiffany was buried scrolling through the pages of different menu available when her tiny voice redeemed me. “Bianca, did you see the rice cakes, purple yam cakes and egg muffins? They are just the best, let's eat that !”. She declared happily with no worries "Hmm yeah and the braised shrimp and beef!”. I said softly and then checked through the cocktails pages. I saw the apple and mint with lime and a red blood strawberry and I struggled to choose between the two tasty cocktails when her voice came up as usual “I want the strawberry". She declared and I nodded saying me too.

Mya, who had repeatedly called Madelyn's name, ran over to her. She was holding a basket of strawberries and smiling brightly. She ran so quickly that the wind ruffled her hair. Madelyn slowed down to wait for Mya. Mya reached Madelyn's side and said, "Why are you so late today? I've been waiting for you for so long. Quick. try these strawberries. My family grew these!" As Madelyn opened her mouth to speak, a strawberry was shoved into her mouth. She bit off half of it and said, "Thank you. It's delicious."

She shakes her head wiping her eyes. “I am going to leave you to relax.” I tell her leaving. The entire day goes by slowly mostly because Camilla stays in her room and I keep Mirabelle from bothering her. Adrian had the chefs that were cooking today to make her favorite dishes which was hard because her favorite desert can only be made with strawberries from the Royal Garden, they are the best strawberries of all time and Adrian made sure someone went there and well even though the person hasn’t made it back yet because it’s pretty far driving there, he will make sure Camilla has the strawberry cake.

Stella and Andy had been second parents to me since they moved to this little town, and Stella had taken an instant liking to Adley. “I just whipped up some blueberry-cherry cobbler. Tryin’ out a new recipe.” Stella smiled proudly. Stella loved baking, and would come up with some new concoction every day. ‘Dessert of the day’, she called it and Adley loved it every time. “Yes! I’ll take some! I’ll also take the Cowboy burger and some chili cheese fries. Oh, and a large strawberry milkshake.” Adley grinned, her tongue running over her lips as though she could already taste it.

He’s such a well-mannered child, he’s beaming happily, and I can tell he’s enjoying his party. “No no Corrado, you go first!” Another child says, and he finally agrees, hurrying to the front. I pass Lucy her stick with a paper plate beneath it and I pick up another stick for Corrado. “Can I get some strawberries, some waffle… a profiterole and a brownie please Winnie?” He beams. “Of course." I get to work and once I’ve dipped it under the flowing chocolate, I sprinkle it with a dusting of blue and gold edible glitter.

Deviled eggs. English pea salad. Cranberry salad. Fruit salad. Salad bar. Yeast rolls. Biscuits. Sweet rolls. Potato bread. White, brown and turkey gravy. Pies – if it could be in a pie crust, there was at least one. Probably two. Apple, cherry, pumpkin, mincemeat, pecan, lemon, chocolate, coconut and rhubarb. And merengue pies. Peach and apple cobblers, too. White, chocolate, yellow and carrot cakes. And a cherry dump cake which Siobhan was craving.
