Stuck With You
I mutter, my voice a strained whisper against the relentless drumming of the rain.
“Just start, please."
I turn the key again, and the engine splutters to life with a weak cough before dying again. Something is not right. She usually starts on the second try. My breath hitches in my throat, a wave of panic rising within me.
“No, no, no," I whisper, my voice cracking with desperation.
