Subnautica Novels & Stories

Something urges her to go all the way, and she does until she’s completely submerged. Saya squeals inside her head as they sink to the bottom, and Selene doesn’t understand why being here feels different. It’s as if she’s drunk and falling off a cliff directly into the abyss. She has no control over her body; she opens her eyes underwater and can only see the moonlight peeking proudly between the redwood leaves. She doesn’t know how much time passes, but she finally lifts her head and takes a violent breath, trying to fill her lungs with oxygen. Disoriented, she looks around, and it’s quite dark now. However, the moon is still there, shining above her.

I was unpleasantly surprised when I came downstairs. Sienna was standing in my kitchen looking at me like she wanted to kill me. She is my brother’s and Alpha’s best friend. She is 25, just like my brother and Alpha, and she has been hanging out with them since childhood. Now, she is clinging on to them like they are a lifeboat. She was devastated when she found out that neither my brother nor Alpha were her mates. That didn’t stop her from trying to become Luna. She is always around Alpha, proving herself and trying to convince him to take her as his chosen mate.

"It's a planetary alignment tool. They used it to stabilize the ley lines." "Or to weaponize sunlight," Kai noted, looking at the lenses. Leo brought the sub to a hover near the base of the crystal tower. "I have to go out," Leo said. "We can't dock?" I asked. "There are no airlocks compatible with this rust bucket," Leo said. "And the interface is external. I have to touch the glass." He unbuckled from the pilot’s chair. The amber lights of the sub dimmed as he disconnected, switching to emergency battery power.

I told him with emphasis on it, but I know he'd understand why I'm worried about him, but he didn't say anything to me. We kept on walking and after about ten minutes we could finally see the dungeon. “Is that it?” Sage asked, I nodded at him on getting to the door, I used my eyes to unlock it, it's a retina unlock process, and just me, Aria and Ragnar are able to unlock it. It was a system that we recently put in place. “It uses eyes to unlock the door,” Sage stated looking at the building in daze, he seemed impressed. “Are you ready to see her?” I couldn't help but to ask him again.

I wasn’t sure if Luna had informed him of the decision this late at night. Seeing my silence, Kelvin let out a low, mocking laugh, his gaze dripping with contempt. His wolf mirrored the same smugness, as though no one but him could ever be my mate. He turned to Amanda and said, with exaggerated sarcasm, “You’re mistaken, my Luna. There is one more option—a rogue wolf. You remember him, don’t you? The one exiled from our pack three years ago. Oh right... I nearly forgot I even had a younger brother.”

The only remaining route was the Mirror Facility, an underwater data farm thirty miles off Long Island, nominally owned by a maritime research consortium. Evelyn, Adrian, and Luca went dark, leaving Elias to distract the auditors with forged intelligence leaks. By evening they reached the coast. Waves punched the breakwater like artillery as they boarded a compact submersible disguised as a research drone. The instruments glowed faint green, painting their faces ghostly. Adrian checked his monitor. “Facility depth: ninety meters. Entry port disguised as ventilation shaft.” “Security?” Evelyn asked. “Automated drones. Infrared only.”

“The Sanctuary is no longer a safe-house. It’s the final stage of the game of thrones. And we are not leaving this place until The Director is neutralized.” The Nautilus V-Class settled gently onto the docking clamps of the Sanctuary, the deep-sea habitat of Marcus Thorne. The pressure outside was nearly seven tons per square inch, a crushing darkness only illuminated by the sub’s powerful halogen lamps reflecting off the immense, monolithic composite-steel dome of the facility.

When his mother came to get him because it was time to leave for school, Jasper even gave Xandar a high-five before he went over to give Lucianne a hug. At ten o'clock, apart from Hale and Annie, those who came to infiltrate the rogue headquarters formed temporary mind-links between themselves and got into the five submarines engineered, built and owned by Faint Moon. These were normally used to take tourists to explore the underwater world around the pack’s waters, and to take school kids on annual field trips. It generated a significant income for the pack since the coral reefs and fish in those waters were rare.

Offering my snarky remarks and ungenial comments. But it wasn’t anyone else. It was Sienna. The future Luna of this pack. And she was currently, very inelegantly, trying to run away from me. She seemed to have not rhought her escape route through properly however, when she came to an abrupt halt, cliging to the down pipe like her life depended on it. The looked about herself, apparently unsure what to do next. It was at that point that everything happened incredibly quickly. The one screw that held the pipe to the wall fell loose, quickly followed by the pipe breaking free from the bracket, and swinging down through the air in a wide ark towards the floor below.

She facepalmed. "Wonderful," Carori said dryly. "What do we do now?" "Let's leave this pack first," Fenris said. "By morning, the guy might be fully back to his senses and send a search team for Zayna." ~~~ "This is what? The third pack we're going to? And we still have no leads," Kurt lamented. "At this point, I think it's safe to say that Luna Dakota is dead." Alaric rolled his eyes at the boy's attitude as he munched on his hamburger.
