"He-I think we broke up." The bed creaks when she sits on the edge beside me. "Because of you being here?" I nod, blinking back tears. "Yeah, he uh thought I'd let a vamp drink..." "This wasn't an ordinary suicide. It was induced through deep hypnosis. "Someone used words to destroy her will to live and suggest that she should die." Summer's voice trembled. "Who? Did you see who it was?" "A woman wearing gold-rimmed glasses and a white lab coat. Her voice was very refined." The color drained from Summer's face.

But a second later, the dark Alpha venom in my bite flooded her system, instantly turning the pain into a heavy, intoxicating wave of pure bliss. The moment my teeth pierced her skin, a violent, blinding explosion of light shattered my consciousness. It felt like a physical shockwave. He ground his teeth together. "Supernaturals are all the same. They take what they want without regard for anyone but themselves."
