she said softly, “so does your claim.” Kael stepped forward. “You destroy that, and every pack will hunt you.” “They already fear you,” she shot back. “We simply offer them another option.” I moved closer, positioning myself behind a fallen shelf. “There is no option in civil war,” I said. “There is only survival,” she replied. Again that word. Survival. Always survival. Kael’s shoulders tensed. “You’re not here for the records,” he said suddenly. She stilled. “You’re here for me.”

“How slight?” 0.8–1.2%. Aidan exhales slowly. “That’s the cost.” Survival variance increases. “Agency preserved.” Silence. Then Agreed. The hum lowers. Not fully. But softer. And over the next week The improvements become less obvious. Storms behave more chaotically. Markets fluctuate unpredictably. Conflicts spike and settle without pattern. The world feels… normal again. Messy. Uncertain. Human. Extinction probability ticks up 1%.

"There are no shortcuts. If you want to live, you'll have to become stronger and more adaptable than anything this world has to offer." Kai nodded grimly. He knew that Wilson was right. He had to survive, no matter the cost. Kai started by teaching himself how to walk and stand again. It was slow and painful, but he eventually got the hang of it. Once he could move around freely, he began to explore the world around him. Kai was determined to survive. He knew that he had to learn the ways of this world to survive. He watched the monsters and learned how they moved and hunted. He must learn how to find food and water. He must learn how to hide from the monsters.

Lennon didn’t like the idea of hiding, because it will one day fail, if not on the first day, it’s better to be prepared than sorry, they can still hide but they have to train, not just Noah but them too. If they want to stay alive in this world next year, they have to at least know some martial arts, know how to use weapons and vehicles, that’s the bare minimum, he wasn’t even considering the resources they will need, the place they are going to stay at, the informations they will need, there are a lot of things to consider for this apocalypse, so they will have to stay up all night to discuss it. ‘Damn you Nova.’

They are going to have their work cut out for them if they are struggling just to find where they are supposed to be going. We decide to head to lunch while we wait for each person to check in. I wonder how many will do as I have taught them right away and how many will try to put it off until they actually need something. The trick to survival is to have your supplies ready before you need them when it is possible. Otherwise, you might end up dead from starvation or sickness.

Leon stood up and walked towards the bar so he could be close. "How's she? Did she wake up? Is she fine? Say something!" Leon snapped while grabbing the bar in his fists tightly. His heart was racing like a marathon at the verge of bursting out of his chest. "She woke up in the morning." Came the calm and controlled voice of James Dawson. "She woke up." He breathed as a smile broke on his lips. "She woke up..." He repeated as a sigh of content washed through his form. She's alive. "She's fine." James said calmly while keenly looking at drastic changing expressions on Leon's face.

“How is your first day going?” “It’s…” I suck in a breath but can’t find the answer. The truth is, more than anything else, I’m surviving. If I am having a horrible time, I know, I’m not letting myself fully feel it. It’s been like that ever since my dad’s funeral. Sure, I’ve been shattered, but the world keeps spinning. I still have to get up and brush my teeth, dress myself. Put one foot in front of the other.

I'm acutely aware of the surreal nature of this moment, caught between the fight for survival and the acceptance of my vulnerability. The hope that this isn't the end, that I will once again feel solid ground beneath my feet, that I will hear Hadley's voice not as a distant echo but as a real, tangible presence, keeps a spark of defiance alive within me.
