Ex-Lover's Regret
We started walking toward my car, and I heard him mutter under his breath, "Should we get him something? You brought Richard a chocolate cake the other day, right, Nicole? He loved it so much."
"No need, Father." I shook my head, rejecting his idea of a gift.
It had been a few days since he had eaten chocolate cake, so he was probably getting sick of it. Most sweets containing saturated fats were also not very good for his growth.
I'm guilty of overindulging in sugar for those few days. Still, I can't deny that my son's big, chocolate-covered smile pleasures me. After all, our dessert tastes were precisely the same, so I could spend some time with him while eating the cake.
