“Well done, Talana,” his voice drawled. “You’ve proven you're your mother’s daughter.”
She stepped forward, fury twisting her features. “You’re running out of shadows to hide in.”
“Oh, I’m not hiding,” he said. “I’m watching, and what I see is a little girl still looking for pieces of a story no one will tell her. You still think justice comes from exposure? From fire? No, Talana. Justice is just another lie fathers tell their daughters before they sell them.”
