Holding it up high, she watched the weight slide to the middle of the blue yarn, shimmering under the sun. Her lips quivered, parted, and shut. Hope’s POV The sky weeps and it floods the earth, causing the once-burning flames to smoulder, dispersing the suffocating smoke. I stand under the rain and with eyes closed, I lift my head up, part my lips and catch the raindrops that fall into my open mouth. The raindrop is salty. That is when I realise that I am tasting a mixture of rain with my own tears. Tears.

She had nothing, no one to turn to, and no way out. The rain began to pour down in earnest, soaking her to the bone. It was as if the heavens were crying for her, sharing her pain. The noise of thunder rumbled in the distance, a low growl that mirrored the turmoil inside her. The tears she had been holding back finally broke free, mingling with the rain as they streamed down her face.

But before I could fully comprehend the magnitude of this moment, they faded away, their forms dissolving into nothingness. It was raining, again. The cold, strong and innocent drops of calmness fell from the sky, splattering on the windowpane in my room. It was strange, how the moon was able to shine through the angry clouds. A distant clapping of thunder rattled the windows while I cowered in the thick covers. The rain didn't show any sign of stopping its shower, nor did my tears. No matter how many times I rubbed my eyes clear, those traitorous tears leaked down my cheeks and drenched my pillow in my misery.

I turned away from Olivia so she doesn't see my tears because this time I want to let myself be consumed in my sorrow. And as soon as a single tear dropped from my eyes and hit the ground, the clouds opened and it started raining heavily. I spread my hands out in the rain, with my eyes shut, while letting my tears flow freely. For once, I wished the rain could wash away my pains. And when I opened my eyes, my heart almost burst out due to what I saw, I saw my Alexander standing and smiling with me in the rain, just a few feet away from where I stood.

A tearing pain throbbed beneath her, where streaks of dark blood stained her pale thighs. Phoebe stumbled into the rain, her heart sinking slowly into an abyss. She stood alone in the downpour, the heavy rain soaking her frail body. Covering her face, she gradually sank to the ground, tears streaming down in desperate despair. The weight of my despair was palpable, yet strangely comforting, for it validated the depth of my pain.

I use hot tears as a negative indicator that it is raining since the droplets are quite chilly. Perhaps it's simply passion, a craving for Lesley's company. When I heard it from Remon, I continuously clutched my stomach and sucked my breath away. Everything that was on my mind, everything that was clinging to what I was feeling and dreaming of, all of it fell at the same time and lost its supporting structure and support.
