I put on my earphone and played Bruno Mars’ It will Rain song before taking the cake from the fridge. It was a beautiful song, and if not for Red’s love for his deceased wife, I would not believe Bruno Mars that every day it would rain when you lose someone you love with your whole heart.

She took Rain's hand and beamed at him before they began walking out of the parking lot. "This feels so incredible." Rain declared. He was wearing a silly smile, matching what was on his mind at the moment. He had thought of ordering to empty the mall just for the two of them but then he changed his mind last minute. He wanted all envious eyes on him. He wished to pick up a microphone and brag about how his mate was caring, considerate, stunning, kind and remarkably gorgeous. He wanted to tell everyone that she was his soulmate and also tell them how much he adored her. However, he had fewer to no chances so he chose to only disclose it to them and that's what he was up for.

I breathed in the fresh air and sighed in satisfaction at the feeling of peace that came alongside my action. At first it drizzled, but after a few minutes, it began to rain heavily with thunder and lightning, signifying the torrential downpour of precipitation. I made a dash for the open window and thankfully, I closed it in time to avoid any of the rain water getting into my room. It was the first rain in the month of June. I gleefully scampered out of my bedroom and into the living room, excited to start my day, but my joy was brought to an ultimate end when I sighted Adrian.

Rosa pressed her hand against the cool glass with round eyes. Her lips parted in awe. The streetlights outside glowed warmer. The sky looked like it was crying gently but it didn’t feel sad.

Sophie’s POV By morning, the sky had darkened to a heavy slate gray. Clouds rolled across the mountains like a stormy tide, thick and moody. I opened the cabin door just as the first drops fell—soft, tentative—before turning into a curtain of silver rain. Behind me, Aria gasped. Arianna squealed. Arian clapped her hands. “It’s raining!” Aria cried, her voice filled with awe. Cassian poked his head out from the hallway, hair sticking in five directions. “Rain? Inside? Or outside? Because if it’s inside, it wasn’t me. Probably.”

Mia sighed in relief, holding her shopping bag close. “At least I found a dress. I was so stressed about it”. Just as they stepped out of the store, a loud clap of thunder echoed in the sky, followed by the sudden whoosh of rain pouring down. “Oh, great,” Mia groaned, pulling her jacket over her head. “Of course, it starts raining now” Aurora smiled, tilting her head up slightly as the raindrops hit the pavement. “I love the rain”. “Yeah, well, I don’t when I have to catch a bus,” Mia huffed, looking at her watch. But then her expression changed into panic.

Rain. I pick at a piece of orange chicken, my mind still drifting toward my mother and Rhysand who’s likely tearing the city apart looking for me. In an effort to drown out the noise in my head, I look up at Caiden. “I know this might not be a good time, but do you think we could talk business for a minute?” Caiden smiles and nods, happy for the distraction. “Of course. Please.” He pulls out his phone and opens up the floor plans for his office. In the minutes that follow, I stop being the girl hiding from a possessive billionaire and her mother. I’m simply Rain, a professional designer.

I hear a satisfactory hmmm close to my ear, which made me look up at him in the mirror. "Wh- wha-t are-e you-ou doin Ryan-n?" I notice I am stammering miserably, I shut my lips instantly as his eyes meet mine once again. He smiles wide like a demon showing his beautiful white teeth, which made my confidence level go in minus.
