Tempting the Wrong Prince
Steady.
“Come here,” he said softly, extending his hand.
I hesitated, trembling. But then, slowly, I moved to him.
His hand enveloped mine, warm, strong, sure, and he guided me to stand beside him.
“Tonight,” he said quietly, his thumb brushing across my knuckles, “we gaze at the stars.”
And though my heart thumped so loud I feared the heavens themselves could hear it, I stayed. I let his hand hold mine as I looked through the telescope, my body screaming for what he had denied, my soul yearning for the man who was both salvation and danger.
