Tessa Lilly Books Novels & Stories

Lilly's POV I was falling. I had jumped from the balcony rail. The ground surged toward me, and for a fleeting instant, time seemed to pause. My mind raced with a mix of fear and exhilaration as I braced for impact, knowing that this leap was not just about escaping Sade but also reclaiming my own power. My heart pounded, and the blood in my veins felt frozen; yet in those few seconds, I felt free and alive. I landed with a soft thud on the grass, and before I could fully register what happened next, I shot like an arrow into the forest.

Looking at Lila, he said with a soft smile, “By all means, pack them.” “Did Steven Giles cough up more funds for research?” Lila quizzed. “Is he making us move? I don’t understand.” Carefully placing the lid on the oversized plastic tub that contained his research files, Jasper stopped working and took the time to properly explain things to his assistant.

But Willow, with her wide eyes and innocent curiosity, piped up, "Mommy, can we have a story before we sleep, please? A princess story!" She couldn't resist her daughter's request. Stories had always been a source of comfort for Willow, and Tessa couldn't deny her the solace they provided. "Of course, sweetie," Tessa replied, her voice taking on the cadence of a bedtime tale. "Once upon a time, in a faraway kingdom, there lived a strong and brave princess named Lily."

“Hold still, Pretty. Don’t move your head too much, okay?” “Yes, Mommy,” the girl mumbled obediently, clutching a toy. The calm didn’t last long. Heels clicked against the marble floor, slow, deliberate, echoing confidence. The smell of alcohol drifted in before the voice came. “Well, this looks cozy,” Lila drawled from the doorway. Tessa froze for half a second before forcing herself to keep braiding. She didn’t look up. She didn’t need to, Lila’s presence was loud enough without words.

LINC - I helped Lila back up to the house, barely holding it together as I tried to keep her steady. I managed a quick exit, explaining to Tessa that she'd started feeling sick. Tessa gave me a look but then tilted her head slightly and smiled. "She was glowing tonight. Get her home and into a hot bath, she'll feel better." That was enough to make me pause. I wondered if she knew somehow, if there was something she sensed that I hadn't picked up on.

"She just wants to be a matchmaker. Leave it to her to try and find a date for everyone except herself." I move my head in a sort of nod and smile. "So what's up?" I ask her to beckon over to me. Lily sits down on my bed and hands me my book. "Not much, just wanted to return this to you. It's pretty cool. I haven't read everything in it, but I've read most of it. I really think you should read Tigris Surge yourself. There's a lot of information in there. It would be good to at least get acquainted with the story." I take the book out of her hands and place it on my bed.

Call of Prescha had been invoked, and nothing could bring Bastian out of that. Tobias mentioned that Lilly could call Bastian to her only if the spell is finally breaking. Lilly believed Thomas was her mate, so he’d be the man she called to her, not Bastian. Unless, of course, Thomas’s hold was finally breaking. I had to admit that it made sense. What didn’t make sense was how my daughter knew what the Call of Prescha was. To my knowledge, Lilly has never seen anything in the library about this. When I was fifteen, I came across a tome of incantations. I’d finished my studies for the day, and I was putting away the books grandmother had me reading.

“What’s that?” “It’s Tasha’s journal.” She stared at it, then at me. “Tasha as in… the Alpha’s sister?” “Yes.” She blinked. “Lila… what are you doing with that? Do you know what will happen if anyone sees it with you? You’ll be accused of stealing it.” “I know,” I whispered, hugging the book to my chest. “That’s why I haven’t told anyone about it. You’re the only person I feel safe talking to.”

[VECTOR] After Lizzy falls asleep, I roll over on my back and stare up at the ceiling. I don’t know what it is—but it’s obvious that something is eating her from the inside. Is it only the guilt of lying to a kid about the death of his parents, or is it something entirely else? Something tells me there is more to the story than what’s in front of my eyes. I turn on my side and look at Lizzy’s sleeping form. She is curled up facing me, her eyes gently shut, the leftover tears glistening on her lashes. I move some curls that had fallen on her face and put them behind her shoulder.

" She woke up screaming, sweating, and breathless. Morning came, or what passed for it the sky hadn't changed color, but the fires had moved and the Hollowed were gone for now. Lilly found a knife in one of the kitchens, still sharp so she tied it to her belt, filled a bottle from a rain barrel, and climbed back to the roof to scout. In the distance, the rift still pulsed like a heartbeat and beneath it, the city smoldered. There were shapes moving down there, figures in tattered armor, walking through the fire like ghosts, too tall and graceful to be human. She ducked low, watching. One of them turned, as if it could feel her gaze even from here, she felt the weight of its attention. Then i
