She turned away to the window sadly speaking to herself inwards, “If only I could say thank you to them......if only I could speak thanks with all my heart to them…….I understand what they are doing for me but, I fear……..I fear that maybe………… if I thanked them a lot…..they might leave me away……” upon recalling her past with her beloved parents, she remembered how many gifts use to be presented to her by every morning and evening by the hands of her parents, at that moment she was taught for the first time to say the word, ‘Thank you’ by her caretaker Naha to say everyone who ever presented her anything.

But she was still here; she took care of me even better. “I don't need anything more, Amia. The truth is that I want you to leave me here so that I can rest.” She took the things on the table and put them on the tray with a smile. “If that's what you want, ma'am.” Amia turned back on me. I remembered that I had never thanked her. I cleared my throat, and she turned to me. “Amia, thank you for the delicious food. I am very happy,” I said with a sincere smile on my lips.

I sαid‚ nodding quickly while trying to keep my emotions together. She gαve me α smαll‚ kind smile αnd sαt bαck down. “I’m Mrs. Αmαndα. I’m the mαtron from the St. Gertrude’s Orphαnαge. Thαnk you for coming. Pleαse sit.”

She said to me with a warm smile tugged on her lips. " Thank you, Ma'am," were the only words that I could say. I was speechless from the warm welcome coming from them.

I barely had food when I left the hospital,the maid hasn't brought breakfast to me yet which really wasn’t cool, I couldn't stand the hunger anymore as I helped myself to the kitchen , but it was hard finding the kitchen in a place that looked more like puzzle to be solved . Fortunately I met the maid on my way ,"ma'm" she said as she bows to me and and about going about her business but , I had to stop her ," sorry please " I said so it was true, I said walking towards her but, she was fast enough to walk back to me ," yes ma'am". She said without looking up at me ," thank you, please do you know where the kitchen is ?", I asked her looking like I was guilty of something that I didn't secre

Flashback ( " Ma, if he loves Bhabani aunty than why he married you? Why you married him? I asked ma who is cooking. She isn't saying anything. She is concentrating on her work. It's been years since he has left us. I am now 15 years old and Ma has to work as a bar dancer for our expenses. Ma is struggling to take care of 4 children. I again asked ma, " you have to tell me everything. Please ma. I am not any child anymore". She took a deep breath and sat on the kitchen floor. I sat beside her and took her hand on my hand.

Entering the room, Jennifer calmly guided Mia to the couch. Once seated, she initiated the conversation. "How was work today?" Mia responded with a cute smile, "Well, it was stressful as usual, but..." she trailed off. "Hmm," the older woman nodded in understanding. Twitching her lips, she said, "I'd like to express my gratitude for rescuing me that night, helping me to the hospital, and covering my medical expenses. Thank you so much."

“Thank you so much, Ma'am. I don't deserve this but you-” “Nah. That's okay. Thank you so much.” “No, Ma’am, I should be the one thanking you,” the lady smiled at her. Rosa shook her head. “It's okay. Do take care of yourself and keep up the good work." Rosa smiled, turned to leave, and then her phone vibrated.

I asked her, and she nodded her head. "Yes, she will survive it." She responded, and I moved close to where Maera lay on the sofa, unmoving, just a faint movement of her chest as she breathed in and out. I touched her face; her body felt warm but pale. I didn't know when I got to her and hugged Anna tightly, she didn't say anything, nor did she hug me back until I was done and let her go. "Thank you for saving the life of my friend. You have no idea what you have done for me" I thanked her; gratitude filled my heart as it threatened to burst.
