Diana I couldn’t believe that I had finally made it here. This place was actually somewhere I rarely visited. I had once come here with my mother, because she came from this place. My mother was a child from an orphanage in a small village. She always told me that her life there had never been luxurious, but she had lived happily there. Everything there was so comforting. Surrounded by mountains and living in such simplicity. When I was little, I often listened to her adventure stories, even the ones about her herding sheep. I thought those stories were something incredible.

I informed her and she listened without interrupting. "But mum, I love Drake more than Sex." I said sadly and she poked my cheeks softly before cupping them into her hands. "I'm sorry darling. Sometimes life gives you a rock and you have to accept it and live with it." She said cryptically and I didn't follow up. "What do you mean?" I asked, raising a brow. "Should I tell you a story?" She questioned slyly and I sighed heavily. "Sure, yes." I said. My mother's story was filled with moral lessons and I felt that they were stories of her life that she wanted me to learn from.

My mother let out a shaky breath, the most painful and final part of her story on the horizon, "I was a little over two months pregnant and the knock came at the door. The best part was when my mother would tell me a story, a story that until now had reverted in my mind. The Mother would always start on the word, "Far and beyond this world, there is a place, a place where you can see nothing but a void..." After saying those words, I couldn't help but fall asleep. It had made me more confused about the next words my mother would say. Because I wasn't asking her about unimportant things, I also didn't ask her about the whole story. I knew that she only told me the story to make me fall asleep.

I was alone myself in my room thinking about my old life when things were easier and people were nicer. When I couldn't sleep, my mother would come tell me bedtime stories to me as she sat beside my bed. I thought I would never have anyone left to tell any story to.” I slowly sat down, and she lowered herself beside me. For a moment, she simply stared at me. “Your mother was beautiful,” she began softly. “She looked just like you when she was about your age She was strong-willed and very stubborn too…”

His fists clenched and unclenched at his sides, his jaw set tight as he struggled to process the revelation. “Mother,” I finally managed to say, my voice hoarse. “How… how is this possible?” Mother exhaled, looking down at her hands as if she were gathering the strength to relive a past she had buried for too long. Then, lifting her gaze, she met our eyes with a sorrowful intensity. “It’s a long story,” she said softly. “One filled with pain and betrayal. But you deserve to know.” She gestured for us to sit, and despite the storm raging inside me, I obeyed.

Brayden said, impressed. "No, but I guess that speaks to the fact that Elara is a working girl. She works hard, and it's a very good trait," my mother said admiringly. That was a strange thing to witness in her. Mom was an amazing woman, but her past before she bonded with my father and had us was not something known to everyone. Mom had been orphaned at a very young age and had to live in several family homes until she came of age, and it was at one of her many jobs that she met my father.
