Raven said, standing as I climbed from the couch.
“I know,” I said. “But Thanksgiving is a holiday I can’t imagine spending away from my family.”
“I’m sure we’ll have plenty of leftovers to have a pretend, second Thanksgiving,” Melanie said, being positive.
Raven laughed. “Have you seen the way these boys eat?”
She had a point. I wondered if there’d even be any leftovers at all by the time I got back. I hugged Raven, and then Melanie stood, and I hugged her, too, so happy to be back home with my friends. “I’ll see you guys tomorrow,” I told them.
