Compilation Of Short Stories

Compilation Of Short Stories

The old book didn’t just feel warm; it pulsed in her hands like a living, sleeping heart. Cora ran her fingers over the embossed, unreadable script on the cover, the leather strangely supple against her skin. The library was silent, empty long past closing time, and the only light came from the green-shaded lamp on her desk. It was this silence, this profound loneliness, that made her trace the symbol in the center of the cover. A mistake, she would later think, but in that moment, it felt like an invitation.

The Name of the Rose

The Name of the Rose

One officer walked past the collapsed drunkard, noticed a speck of mud on his freshly polished boot, and raised his foot to wipe it clean on the unconscious man's body. On the street corner, a group of urchins had caught a scrawny rat and were playing a game of "Judge." The poor creature scurried anxiously inside a metal cage, poked and prodded by sticks until it jumped up and down in panic. Finally, doused in lamp oil, it was set ablaze, turning into a ball of fire. The children playing judge and lawyer laughed manically as the rat screamed, the air filling with the nauseating stench of scorched flesh.

THE REFLECTION GAME

THE REFLECTION GAME

Mia shivered but said nothing. Inside, the library was eerily quiet. Dust motes floated in the air, and their footsteps echoed unnaturally. Anna led them to the corner where they had found the book, the faint smell of damp paper and mildew growing stronger.

Pregnant with Four Alphas' Babies: A Reverse Harem Romance

Pregnant with Four Alphas' Babies: A Reverse Harem Romance

I’ve managed to make it through quite a few hallways this way, and I’m almost at my destination—the library. Luckily, it’s empty, so I sneak around each bookshelf looking for a section of shelves that resembles what the prisoners had described. Finally, I see it. Way over in the corner is a blank wall that looks just a little out of place since every other wall is covered with bookshelves.

The Cornwall's Core

The Cornwall's Core

Barbara Brown’s POV I have told my professor that I was feeling under the weather when I was looking at her. She nodded before she and Adam went out of the hotel and sightseeing in the city. It’s not like I was not I was being left out, it just…I have known this city my whole life. “Okay, let’s go,” I said as I was putting my usual wear; yellow checker flannel with a black shirt underneath it and I was wearing indigo jeans with combat boots. I was ready to see that Mr. Brandon Cornwall and strike a deal with him for a spot.

The Lycan's Obsession

The Lycan's Obsession

He was staring at something in the far corner, only a small ray of light had fallen on something that was shining in the corner. And that is when I realized what he saw. Hastily, I ran towards the corner and pulled the curtain away that had flown on the glass box, hiding it from all of our eyes. I had simply forgotten it existed because I had never gone to that corner again. Abandoned in a corner and hidden behind all the rows upon rows of books was a single book encased in a glass case. Xenos slowly got up from the chair and began walking towards it, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

Ana Cheyanne McGary
I am not often sucked into a story like this, but I actually care about the characters. the male lead is intriguing and mysterious. i like that the female lead, is strong. I'd love to see where you go with this. I'll be checking out your other stories while waiting and anticipating your next update
Dawn Cochran
In my honest opinion, it's a good story, but I'm not done with the book yet. I'm struggling with it. The author has drug the story out and jumps ahead without clarifying things. (Like all of a sudden, the FL has magic, but for 113 chapters, there is no mention of it or her being a hybrid.)

Midwinter Town: A Novella

Midwinter Town: A Novella

“I am an old fellow, I won't look my eyes out; but I'1l call everybody this minute, let others stare at you.” “I'11 come down!” cried Basira. With that, Zastar turned toward the side of the house. “As God lives, somebody is coming!” said he. In fact, from behind the corner appeared young Adam Novoveski, who, coming on horseback, had tied his beast at the side-gate and passed around the house himself, wishing to enter through the main door. Basira, seeing him, was on the ground in two springs, but too late. Unfortunately, Sir Adam had seen her springing from the ladder, and stood confused, astonished, and covered with blushes like a young girl. Basira stood before him in the same way, till a

A RUNAWAY SURROGATE FOR HER BILLIONAIRE HUSBAND

On the other side of the room, a bookshelf sat in the corner, displaying an assortment of well-arranged books and a few files. In general, the room felt cozy and peaceful. It was just... "Wow! " Christiana exclaimed in awe. She headed to the bookshelf. Her eyes scanned the books and finally landed on a novel. Christian's eyes lit in excitement and she took it. It was one of her favorite novels; VERITY BY COLLEN HOOVER.
