She turned to it and squinted. No one was there. Vero turned around to look at the librarian. She was still at her desk. Her gaze returned to the corner of the library that was not touched by the sunlight. The shadows of the bookshelves shaded a small patch of the nook, making it look like an endless dark corner. Her eyes did not move from that corner for several minutes. She waited for something to appear from there, whether it was a person or perhaps a small animal that had intruded into the library. But the movement that had been flashing in the corners of her eyes never appeared.

It's such a beautiful corner to stay in, such a paradise. We continued roaming again 'till we entered a room full of giant shelves and books. There was a table at the corner where a man was sitting with his book up in Infront of his face. I assumed the room was a library office; a huge one. As we approached closer to the man who was still busy reading his book, I swallowed deeply. Fenris didn't even warn me that he was already going to introduce me to someone. My trembling feet wanted to stop like there was a magnet through the door, forcing me to run away.

All my men kept saying she was the wettest woman they've ever touched. Zack no longer could contain his fury and hatred upon hearing that. He rushed toward the man. This campus library is close to the medical faculty, therefore more students from that faculty come here than from other faculties. ~CINDY’S POV~ I was tucked into a corner table at Lily’s, my back to the entrance, oversized brown sunglasses practically glued to my face. A chunky hardcover romance novel, The Devil’s Little Bane, lay open across my thighs, the pages dog-eared and loved. For three days straight, I’d been dodging Henry. His calls had been blowing up my phone and his boots stomping into the bookshop every now and then looking for me. Vicky had my back, slipping me out the back door or covering for me when he showed up, all pitiful and whining.

And I couldn’t afford to start thinking otherwise. ***** NOAH The cracked sidewalks stretched ahead of me, littered with cigarette butts and broken glass. The streetlights flickered, casting long, skeletal shadows across the pavement. The air was thick with exhaust fumes, stale beer, and the lingering scent of fried food from a cart a few blocks down. I shifted the canvas bag in my grip, the weight of my books grounding me. The neon sign above Rodriguez’s corner store blinked in and out, buzzing like a dying insect. And then again, who was he leaving a message for? The questions made my head pound as I eyed everything in concentration. But then I saw it. I saw what I was looking for. Everything in the small library was neatly positioned, not a book out of place. But in the corner sat a shelf with a section that had nothing but encyclopedias. However, stuffed between a book was a small book--a novel maybe. It could've been overlooked by anyone, but since I was so observant, I didn't miss it.

But nothing about today had been human. I sat back, watching the way Novel’s hair seemed to shimmer with a faint silver light, even in the shadows. “My girl,” I smiled. I kissed her forehead one last time before stepping out to check the perimeter. The camp was silent; the battle was won, but the mystery of what Novel truly was had only just begun.
