A book room here was almost as large as a standard library. But this time, the genius of Ethelbert's guess was wrong. When Ethelbert found Coronis, she didn't appear with the jubilant excitement she had just now. And then again, who was he leaving a message for? The questions made my head pound as I eyed everything in concentration. But then I saw it. I saw what I was looking for. Everything in the small library was neatly positioned, not a book out of place. But in the corner sat a shelf with a section that had nothing but encyclopedias. However, stuffed between a book was a small book--a novel maybe. It could've been overlooked by anyone, but since I was so observant, I didn't miss it.

As she turned around, she noticed a flash of scarlet in the shadows of the corner. She gazed intently at it for a couple of seconds before the person under scrutiny emerged gradually from the dark corner. Adrien hated the noise inside, so he hid in this dark corner to smoke. People could talk about her for all her care given all they could say about her were kind words. After all, all the skeletons have been dumped out of the closet. "Hey, wait!" Claire noticed the doors of the elevator closing. She made a run for it and held a hand out seconds before the doors shut on her. They opened again with a ding, nevertheless, the man she sighted standing in the corner with a hard look made goosebumps erupt on her skin. "You're going to step in today, right?" A voice full of grudges rang out. Without a word, Claire stepped in and took a spot in the extreme corner. She hugged her arms as she watched the broad back of the man with a thrilled gaze.

But nothing about today had been human. I sat back, watching the way Novel’s hair seemed to shimmer with a faint silver light, even in the shadows. “My girl,” I smiled. I kissed her forehead one last time before stepping out to check the perimeter. The camp was silent; the battle was won, but the mystery of what Novel truly was had only just begun.

Allan walked to the room on the right where there was a special room where he put his books and an easy chair facing the window. Allan chose one of his books that was quite thick. A business journal it seemed. Allan began to take a position and started reading, not how long he read for but his eyes refused to close. He anxiously closed the book again. "Oh, yes. Perhaps I could read a light book perhaps? A novel? Let's see, do I have a novel? I don't think so! How about this? Wait a minute...whose book is this? A novel? I don't think so..not mine! After a while, the quiet was broken by the sound of footsteps approaching the dining room. Corner entered, dressed neatly as always, and greeted everyone politely before bowing slightly. “Good evening, ma’am. Good evening, everyone,” he said respectfully. He then walked straight toward Ryder, bowing again as he reached his side. From his briefcase, he brought out a brown file and placed it carefully in front of Ryder. “Sir, I have come to return the file,” Corner said. Ryder looked up immediately, his expression changing to surprise. His brows furrowed as he stared at the file sitting on the table. It was the same one he had been searching for all morning — the file about the Snake Gang.

It wrapped around me like a blanket, soothing and fragile, just enough to keep me from panicking in the hall.
