In my humble opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking at this matter in a different way and without fighting and by trying to make it clear, and by considering each and everyone's opinion, honestly believe that I completely forgot.

When the house fell silent

When the house fell silent

When the House Fell Silent is a gripping and emotional family saga that delves into the lives of five siblings — Abby, Aubrey, Tshepo, Mathapelo, and the youngest, Gail — after the sudden death of their father. The novel explores the struggles of grief, the challenges of responsibility, the shadows of abuse, and the weight of family expectations. As the siblings navigate the complexities of marriage, work, and personal trauma, their mother emerges as a steadfast pillar, guiding them through turmoil while facing her own battles as an unemployed matriarch. With in-laws disputing the will and old family wounds resurfacing, the narrative captures the resilience, heartbreak, and courage required to survive. Told with intensity and sensitivity, this novel is a tale of love, loss, and the enduring strength of family bonds. Through trials and triumphs, When the House Fell Silent is ultimately a story of hope, healing, and the voices that must rise to reclaim a family’s future.

I Refused To Be Picked For Marriage

I Refused To Be Picked For Marriage

Silas Jordan drew lots, which resulted in me being chosen as his wife. He hated me for getting his childhood sweetheart killed. Hence, he tortured me to death. But after I died, deep remorse overwhelmed him. After I returned to the past, I first rigged the lottery to help him get together with his childhood lover. However, there were endless new comments on the screen. They were from readers of the novel I was trapped in. [Based on the plot, the male lead will pick the female lead. Then, the male lead’s childhood lover will kill herself. When the female lead gets tortured to death, the male lead starts regretting it. But why would this miserable novel change when the female lead rigged the lottery?] It was because I no longer wished to marry him again.

Frequently Asked Questions

I kept picking up 'The Thirty-Nine Steps' expecting some elaborate espionage ensemble cast because the title sounds like a team effort, but nope, it's basically Richard Hannay's solo mission from start to finish. The guy's a mining engineer from Rhodesia who gets bored in London and then gets dragged into this whole 'prevent an assassination, stop secrets from leaking' mess. What's interesting is he's not a professional spy; he's just a resourceful, ordinary-ish guy who uses his wits. He's constantly on the run across the Scottish moors, which gives the book that great man-against-the-wilderness vibe on top of the spy thriller stuff.

Sometimes I wonder if Buchan made him a bit too capable – he always seems to know exactly how to disguise himself or find a clever hiding spot. But that's part of the charm, I guess. He's like the prototype for every action hero who's cool under pressure. You don't get a ton of deep psychological backstory with him; the plot moves so fast you're just clinging to his coattails as he jumps onto trains and out of windows.

And honestly, without Hannay's particular blend of boredom-turned-determination, the whole story falls apart. He's the engine. The other characters float in and out to give him clues or chase him, but it's his show. I read it after watching a bunch of modern spy stuff, and his pragmatic, less-gadgety approach was a fun change. The ending with the steps themselves feels almost like an afterthought compared to Hannay's journey.
