One Day to Bury the Truth
With eyes so dark they did not seem human, Greg stumbled and staggered his way out of the hospital.
I had left behind very few personal items—only a black notebook and a plain silver ring. Coincidentally, both of those items were gifts from him.
He opened the notebook, and my familiar handwriting entered his sight.
“August 15, 2014. The FBI came to my door. They said my parents were killed in a case involving organized crime. It was only then that I found out my parents, who could only come home once in a very long time, were actually undercover agents. The FBI said those bad people might come after me, so they told me to watch out for my safety during this period.”
