Avery walked into the bar, her brows furrowed as she entered. She felt relieved that her dealings with Rohan had ended, and she would no longer have to see him, but she was frustrated that Damien no longer wanted to see her either. She noticed Jeffrey attending to a customer, but as soon as he caught sight of her, he averted his gaze. Avery couldn't care less, so she ignored him and headed for the counter. "Who are you?" she asked, noticing an unfamiliar girl dressed in their work uniform sitting at the counter.

The moment I finished tidying up the house, the system's notification chimed. "Fran, you'll be going home in five days," it said. Tears began streaming down my cheeks again. I forced a smile and whispered, "Alright... Thank you." For a second, I thought I heard the system sigh. The next thing I knew, my ears were filled with the sound of fireworks going off. Elijah had lit them up outside for Abigail. I took a deep breath, turned around, and gathered all my belongings—wedding photos included. I then crouched in a tight corner of the garden and burned all that junk in a heap.

Where did he go? " Why are you crying?" Asher asks and looks at Ace, who was trying to wipe all of his tears. " onions, " Ace says and Asher shrugs and points at the fridge. " I want water, " He says again. Ace gets the bottle out of the fridge and pour a glass for him.

I don't expect a happily ever after, there will always be a lot of Afters to our imperfect love but I pray for the strength to keep getting through it. Remembering the Nova that told me to fuck off back in highschool, she happens to still be the same but more matured and I have learnt to love that crazy part of her. Before I could say another word, the line disconnected, leaving behind nothing but the hollow beeping tone. The cold grew sharper and sharper, carving straight into my bones. Gritting my teeth, I pulled the blanket tighter around myself. Suddenly, my phone lit up with a notification. I turned my head slightly and saw that Morgan had just updated his social media. In the photo, he wore nothing but a thin short-sleeved shirt with a popsicle hanging from his mouth. 'So lucky Ms. Sheffield brought me a generator, or I would have frozen tonight too.' I stared at the picture for a long time.

I ate at the table alone. The house was very quiet.
