Then he looked back at Grant. “You built something worth defending here.” Grant could have heard challenge in the sentence if he wanted one. He didn’t. “So did you.” The young Alpha’s expression shifted slightly. Grant held out his hand. The other man took it. The handshake carried no extra pressure or hidden message, only the political relationship they had spent days making workable. “The agreement stands exactly as written,” Grant said.
