Godric did not speak. His hands curled into massive fists. The betrayal radiated off him in dark, suffocating waves.
“I should have killed you,” the man taunted, stepping away from the pillar. “But you were useful. You kept the southern armies away while I dug through your archives. Now, you are just in my way.”
A feral, deafening roar tore from Godric’s lungs. He abandoned all restraint.
Lunging forward, the Alpha moved faster than my eyes could track. He tackled the warlock around the waist, driving him straight through the wooden bed frame. The heavy mattress collapsed.
