Third person's POV: "Christy, Why have you called us here? What important news did you have to share?" Two girls asked. The girl named Christy said, "My rival has come." The girls were confused. "Elaborate." One of them said, raising her brows. "I heard Alpha Theodore found his mate." "Yeah." They nodded. "I thought he would be mateless forever!" One of them spoke. "His mate is a human. A lowly human doesn’t deserve alpha Theodore." Christy mentioned.

Damon attempted to explain. "Who is she?" Albert inquired. Damon opened his mouth after a one-minute pause, "My mate!" Albert was taken aback and couldn't believe what he was hearing. Their potential alpha Damon, the powerful king's son, the king who risked his life to build his pack, had a human mate. Thier future alpha's mate was a human known for their frailty and weakness in the werewolf world. Albert could see how much his friend yearned for his mate, so he avoided being rude and instead asked one question, "Do you love her?"

Alistair asked, looking at Elara and then at me. My breath caught in my throat. Crap! What am I going to do? My mate is Alpha Black. The one who kills for fun. I can't be mates with him. You know she's human; there are many dangers that threaten a human without the power to protect herself," Alpha says, leaving me speechless. Yes, she's a woman who seems fragile, possibly even shattered just by a tight embrace from us.

Teeth bared, chin lifted. They don’t see how my chest aches like something is pressing outward from the inside. But it also means something else. Something safer. Something cruelly convenient.
