I lift my arms, pull my shirt over my head, and hand it to her in one move. The once-over she gives my chest leaves Beast purring in contentment, the traitor. I discovered in the meeting that Beast hasn't just accepted her as mate, he's ready to kill anyone who stands in his way. I need to refrain from thoughts of Marinah as mate until her beast is ready and Beast won't be helping. Neither did the kiss, which is something else I choose not to think of for the time being.
