The silver hair bloomed under the faint moonlight peeping through the leaves, reflecting pale light like threads of metal. I could not see his face clearly, but the sight of his broad back alone made my breathing hitch slightly. My heart started hammering inside my chest. "Don't fall in love," Moon warned. "I am not," I whispered quickly, though my pulse refused to calm down. My attention immediately shifted to his wound. A dagger had been driven deep into his back shoulder. The blade glinted faintly beneath the moonlight. Even from this distance, I could recognize the dull gray coating along the metal.

The pain wasn't there, numbness consumed her for a little while and she watched the knife as he pulled it out. The crimson of her blood fell on his hand as it dripped down on the floor. "Wanna tell the truth now?" He asked in calmness. It was as if her blood had calmed his beast down. She continued to watch the blood pouring out. Her eyes flickered up to meet his eyes for a brief second before they fell on the knife plunged into his arm. He was bleeding as well. But there was no pain etched on his face. Icy chills started to engulf her body as her vision became blurry. She blinked rapidly to keep her eyes focused on the ruthless man but her body gave up on her, her body swayed a little. Eyes

Blade came out with his usual all black clothing—a big black sweatshirt, a black baggy jean, black glasses, black face cap, black sneakers— and a revolver carefully tucked by his side. To my shock, the passenger door opened and a girl came out. She was obviously young, probably fourteen or fifteen with red hair and a round hazel eyes which peered at me through the glass of the coffee shop. I couldn’t help but wonder who she was and why Blade had decided to bring her along. They both shared words before walking towards the coffee shop. “Emily!” Blade called as he walked inside with his companion right behind him. “I’m right here,” I said waving my hands in the air to draw his attention.

Beauty and I shot off towards him together since we both had to make the kill shot. She continued hitting him with her aura while I stuck him with the blades, knowing that each one weakened him more. His claws came out to rip into me, but I ducked out of the way and used his momentum to my benefit. My blade was sharp enough that it sliced right through his hand. Black tarry blood sprayed from his newly created stump. I tossed Beauty the other blade, and she made quick work of taking off his other hand too. His aura was indeed weakening. The two of us continued slicing into him.

This made the culprit's face visible. We really couldn't hear what they were saying. The culprit brought out a knife as he pointed it with shaky hands as I turned to Ini. He seemed right about the killer being a novice. Then suddenly boss ran towards him before kicking the knife out of his hands. The culprit tried to run as boss grabbed the shower cap before pulling it out harshly. The cap fell off as well as the long hair that belongs to that of a female. Wait, what? A female? I turned to Ini has he nodded silently begging me to watch till the very end.

My grip slipped, claws raking down my ribs. Pain flared white and hot. “You’ll find it now,” I snapped, forcing its head against the rug. “Or she dies!” That jolted her. Pelin scrambled to her bag, yanking the red crescent blade free. It glowed faintly, the markings along its edge pulsing like embers.

And on the pedestal, a blade of pure sunlight. It is beautiful. Terrifying. It hums with power that makes my teeth ache. "The Sun Blade," the Guardian says. "It is yours if you can take it." I approach the pedestal. The blade glows brighter as I near. "Seraphina, wait," Kael says. "We do not know what it will do to you." "I know. But I have to try." I reach out and touch the blade. Fire explodes through me. I fall to my knees, the blade in my hands, burning me from the inside. My mark blazes silver, fighting the fire. My mother is shouting. Kael is pulling at me. But I hold on.

“A life where you will always have eyes on your back.” She held out her hand and looked at the first scar she had gotten when the team she belonged to were deployed to the frontlines. Alex remembered that her father had tried stopping from her of going but was not successful. The scar was from a knife that one of the infidels had slashed at her when they were capturing the group. She closed her eyes and shuddered as she remembered that was also her first kill using that weapon. She had not slept for days because she could not get it out of her mind. As her deployment continued, it came to the point that she already got used to seeing blood and retaliating back at those trying to kill them. S

Zia pointed to the table just behind her. The guy had laid all the weapons carefully on the table, their sharp edges glittering against the dim light. " Hope you aren't scared lover boy. You weren't like this when I had your memory wiped. You were like a mad dog, facing danger head on. So I'll expect you to remain calm, and be the man you always were," Zia said playfully as she picked a blade, her favourite double edged cutting friend. Asriel gruntled once more, his eyes almost popped out from fright. He watched in horror as the blade moved closer to his face, till at one move Zia had made to slice his cheeks, but ended up cutting the tape on his lips into two.
