He glanced at the screen, and his face went pale. “What is it?” Kendall asked. He hesitated. “It’s from my guy watching Beauty. She’s… here.” The words made Kendall’s skin prickle. “Here? At the lake?” Before he could answer, a voice rang out from the shadows. “Well, well. Isn’t this romantic?” Beauty emerged from the trees, her red coat vivid against the darkness, her smile both dazzling and poisonous. She was holding something small and metallic in her hand, a lighter. Jack’s eyes narrowed. “Beauty. What do you want?”

She transformed back into human form and held her bleeding shoulder. "You're quite good, but you're still no match for me." The woman who approached her said it while wearing an insulting grin. "Well, that's not surprising for an Alpha's daughter. You're Coleen right?" Her enemies seemed to have mistaken her. Blade grinned mockingly. "Quite good? Nah... I am better than you if just you hadn't used underhanded tactics." Blade was pertaining the poison.

The memories of the borderlands, the hunts, the bloodshed—they all blurred into the background. Only the blade remained. Steel. Control. Focus. He spun the sword once and brought it down in a clean strike that would have split a skull from crown to jaw. The sound echoed softly across the courtyard. Then— “You train early.” The voice came from behind him. Deep. Smooth. Ancient. Adrian froze instantly. His instincts reacted before his thoughts did. He turned and dropped to one knee. “My king.” King Vaelreth stood near the entrance of the courtyard, his dark cloak stirring slightly in the cold morning wind.

I blew the hair out of my face but my efforts were to no use. Unexpectedly, Ryder placed my unruly strands away from my face and I averted eye contact. "Thankyou." I say. "You look horrible, why would you go out of the house like that." Well that hurt, I thought I looked nice. My eyes welled up and I tried to get out of his hold. "Stop." He said and held me in place. "Why so you could bully me even more." I retorted, he smiled at me as if proud that I stood up to him. It was rare to see Ryder smile, it was so genuine and showed another side of him. Doesn't erase the fact that he's a psycho who feeds off my pain.

Magnus took out something and it was full of blades so it caught my attention. "Where did you get these blades?" I asked while looking at the different large blades with different sizes and widths. "Dad owns this," Magnus replied. I didn't move it because it was too sharp. "Practice using guns, try to hit those cans from the distance and aim it carefully," Max commanded. I watched Max and Magnus target the can in the distance. He hit it so easily so I was a little surprised. "All right, you're next Alas," Max said. "Be careful to use guns, put it away from those around you," Maximus warned.

Alicia raised her gaze to that woman; she challenged her with her gaze. Alicia was intimidated and lowered her gaze immediately.
