Go back to your room.” His mother hurriedly whispered when she noticed him listening to their conversation. “Wait, did you just say men in black?” Hyde resorted when he came back to his senses. His companion didn’t speak but answered him with a mere nod. “Oh, and one more thing, she also said that one of them has some kind of black bird tattoo on the neck.” Hyde was stunned when he heard about the tattoo. He’s certain, that the deceased man was one of them—or just a scapegoat.

I peered closer, the only thing I could make out was the sinister smile that reached up the shadow hiding the rest of his face. My gaze drifted to the opposite side of the road and I spotted Andrew's BMW-I8 parked there. Could it actually be his? No, no! Colour drained from my face and I looked on in horror. A shrill scream left my lips as I cowered to the floor both hands covering my ears.

In the quiet of the boy’s home, Xareth performed a ritual, his body writhing with demonic energy, muttering incantations in a tongue that hurt to hear. A cold wind swept through the room. I saw it. Slipped inside like a serpent into a hollow shell. A moment later, the grim reaper appeared, faceless, cloaked in black, and silently took the boy’s soul away.

As he grinned, his white, utterly hairless face stretched like rubber. As one skeletal guard closed the door, another readied the chair at the end of the table. The pale man sat. He did not remove his hat. As Mother wiped her face with her napkin, Father cleared his throat. “Welcome, Mr. Cillian. I am Benjamin Blackwood. This is my wife Elizabeth—” He paused, for the skeletal creatures were marching over to stand behind his and Mother’s chairs. “Do continue,” said Mr. Cillian. His voice was excessively nasal. “Don’t mind the Reapers. They’re friendly, that’s all.”

Lucas was like a woman under the visit of his great aunt. (a/n: for those who don't know, great aunt was a slang to some novels = monthly period) Lucas stayed. Maria returned the nod. “Rowan.” Maria nodded in acknowledgment, recognizing him instantly. This was Rowan Blackthorn, the Shadow Reaper, one of Somerland’s legendary Gods of War.
