My stomach did a little flipping thing it always did when I was nervous. Apex Tower wasn’t just rich. It was another world entirely, And Damien Black was the kind of name that made even the veterans at the restaurant trade whispers. I’d never served him before, but I’d heard enough. Reclusive. Lira’s POV We stepped into the cool luxurious interior of the restaurant, and I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding. The noise faded and was replaced by soft music and the clinking of glasses. A smartly dressed waiter bowed slightly and gestured toward a reserved area. “Welcome, Blackwood family. Right this way.” We followed him past rows of diners, and I noticed some still staring, whispering, some even sneaking photos. But it didn’t bother me.

"Oh no, thank you. I'm not a big fan of these undercooked and tasteless restaurant steaks and meat under the guise of medium rare steak and their other fancy names." I quickly dismissed it. It did not end well the last time.

Eat up, and get the hell out of here,” I turned away from him, but stopped midway, “Also, I’m blacklisting you—“ “Sit with me,” he ordered, not in the slightest bothered about my threat. My withering glare was enough for him to deduce my eagerness to spend another second sharing the same breathing space with him. I was about to resume my stride when, “If you don’t, I’m going to drop a very bad review about your 5-star restaurant.”

The manager gave him a polite nod before speaking. “Mr. Richard Black, I'm here to inform you that you have been permanently blacklisted from our restaurant and will not be served this evening.”

I approach the building with a light skip, my cloak flying behind me as I pick up my speed. Reaching the front of the building I peer in.

Rasmus leads us to a place named The Silver Cask—a lively inn nestled between two stone buildings. “The palace food doesn’t compare,” he declares proudly as we enter. “You’ll find the best roasted meat here.
