Again, I looked at the pages and couldn't make any sense of what was written there in some language I had no familiarity with. Most of the letters looked like a strange combination of old Norse runes and the thick sweeping characters of Sanskrit. I pointed at the book. "You can actually read that?"

I had this unsettling feeling that they were going to attack, but where, when and who were uncertain. When I got home, I ran over to an old, Victorian cabinet that was passed down through the generations in my family.
