Craved (Book #10 in the Vampire Journals)

Craved (Book #10 in the Vampire Journals)

Desperate, she stepped forward and stuck her foot in the crack before the door could close. “Please. You don’t understand. I just traveled half the world to get here. I’m just a mother who loves her daughter very much. Who’s concerned for her. You have a book I need. A very rare book. Please. I have nowhere else to turn.” The woman stared back at her for what felt like forever, then slowly, her expression softened. The woman looked warily both ways herself, then gestured her in. Caitlin quickly hurried in from the pouring rain, and as she did, the woman slammed and locked the door behind her.

The Mafioso's Corpse Bride

" The woman asked her again. Again, she looked at her. If she is not mistaken, her name is Linda. a maid who was chosen by that wretched man to serve her. It seemed that she was genuinely worried about her silence when she spoke to her. She ignored her words and simply looked at the window again. There was no point in going outside anyway. She could even see a glimpse of that David man outside, almost as though he wanted to kill her with that murderous intent in his eyes. "No, I'd rather stay here," she uttered before she opened a book that had been resting on her lap all this time. Her only companions since she entered this household were the glistering window pane and the books on the shel

They were both active members of the Ladies' Bridge Club and I assumed they just didn't see me sitting there. “No,” the second woman said, taking her seat. “What about her? Who is she?” “She's Libby's daughter” the first woman explained. “She just graduated college.” “Oh, yes. I remember. Dark hair. Quiet.” “She's pregnant,” the first woman announced, her voice haughty and condescending. “No!” “Yes. And by Richard Smoke's boy.” “You mean the little boy that used to eat dirt?” the second woman asked. “He's grown now and manages the feed lot, but yes.”

The woman was as under weight as a rail, twiggy slender and malnourished but still managed to maintain her hourglass figure. "Do they treat her good?" The woman finally spoke up. She had not felt comfortable enough. Trying to beware of her surroundings. She did not want to trust them so soon. The white man who had a black mistress residing in the house. Something seemed off to Jenny. She had never seen such, even the white man's mother treated the black woman fondly. The two even had a son who ran around a few times, he was a well mannered boy but something did not sit well with Jenny. Why were they so kind, nice and... it was suspicious. Did they really have her daughter? It was hard to bel

Love the story. Do not change your story because readers might feel offended. Tell the tale as it is. Slavery is a fact and there was rape a daily struggle. But I do believe there was love as well. As I’m a proud mix race women. Born in a Dutch colony, these are the untold stories. Well told!!!

I defined give this book 100...️. Out of all the interesting books (and some not so interesting), this one takes the cake. A few grammatical errors, but at least you understand the actual story nonetheless. I fully recommend it for strong hearted readers. Different plot from the clichés in this app.

The Traitor's Daughter

The Traitor's Daughter

The image of Donga rose in my mind like smoke. Tall, cruel, eyes like knives. The man who ripped the innocence from my childhood, who used me like a tool to cement his empire of fear. He never saw me as his daughter. Only property. Only leverage. And now he was the target. The only problem I had noticed with Lorenzo was that he was too straightforward and too headstrong while the man that should be my father was a sly snake. I squeezed my eyes shut tighter, as if I could block out the storm in my mind. What if Donga played on that? What if he twisted it, the way he twists everything?

Falling For My Ex’s Brother-In-Law

Falling For My Ex’s Brother-In-Law

Didn’t hear the follow-up questions, the commands, the sudden flurry of movement. All I heard was the roaring in my ears. A woman. Bloodied. Running out of breath. My mind screamed one name so loudly it drowned out reason. Rissaaaa… I lurched forward, seatbelt biting into my shoulder as I reached for the door. “That’s her,” I whispered, then louder, shaking, “That’s my daughter!” “Ma’am…” the inspector grabbed my arm, firm. “We need confirmation.” Confirmation? How many bloodied women were stumbling out of abandoned warehouses at midnight?

The Don's Daughter: Love & Betrayal

"Nelly, by the time you see this I'll be long gone. I'm sorry for doing this to you but I couldn't give my son to that monster. You've heard the rumors about him and what he's capable of. I can't let my little boy grow up to be like him. So when he came for his child, I gave him your daughter. He didn't know the gender of the baby I was carrying. As a girl, your daughter will live like a princess. Fathers love their daughters and protect them. You have nothing to worry about now. I hope you'll forgive me for doing this to you. One day I'll repay you for this but until then, don't hate me too much. Fab." The piece of paper floats away from my hands, down to the floor as I start shaking. From

I Was Dismembered On My Mother's Death Anniversary

“I thought that the woman lied to me and pointed me to the wrong person. I was so mad, you know? But I found out later that the girl was your real daughter, and we treated her ‘really nicely’. “Judging by your expression, I feel it was much better than killing you! Hahaha!” My father stared at All Stars. “Who’s that woman?” “Don’t you know? We caught one woman before your daughter. She said that she was tortured while under your care and hates you. She said that if we let her go, she’d help us catch you. “But she lied to me. Still, we managed to kill your daughter, and that’s still great. It feels much better making you live in the eternal pain of losing your only remaining family.

My Devil Billionaire : Give Me Your Heart

Amanda chuckled, she was forced to follow her husband's wishes, but the man's request made Amanda have no intention of continuing any pictures, she chose to move to pick up a thick book that she had not finished reading. The position of the iPad did not shift or move away from its place, it remained there, and Amanda positioned herself so that Oriaga could see his wife's activities. "What book are you going to read, huh?" Oriaga asked. "I hope you're not reading a book called 'Being the Most Woman—" "A Japanese novel." Amanda pointed to the book. "You can see the title and the author's name, right?" "Hm. Yes, please stop reading a book called 'Being the Happiest Woman', don't read it."

The Tribrid’s Daughter (The Tribrid Series)

“She refuses to leaver this house. I had to practically drag her out to the falls today.” “Just leave her be. If she is in this house you don’t have to stay.” “Thank you Alpha.” “Xander come one, we’re home. It’s uncle.” “Sorry uncle.” I hear their footsteps fade away as I pull the book out. It has a leather binding and the pages appear old. I open the first page and don’t find a name but the first entry of a diary. July 1st
