The book he was talking about--that was this Bible Esther was speaking of? “I didn’t realize it was a famous book.” “Probably the most famous book ever written,” Esther replied. “Maybe someday, when you get to the Nation of Quebec, you’ll have a chance to read it.”

Yet at the same time I couldn’t stop myself, I flipped open the cover, my hungry eyes gazing at the pages before me. It was written in Latin, but luckily, I was proficient in my Latin being a warlock. The date on the very first page struck me right away, it was a mere year before Esther was made immortal. An event Esther has always been cagey about. I read the pages as quickly as I could, the author of the book was never mentioned by name, but Esther was. The Seven is something I had never heard of before, and part of me thought maybe this was a book of fiction, something I rejected immediately because if it was mere fiction Esther wouldn’t care about it enough, to put it in her trunk.

Steven told Mateo. Mateo pulled his eyebrows together, “Wait – if she passed away – who was he trying to reach? Her family?” He asked. “Esther didn’t have a family. She died alone in her house. Although, I did find something interesting. Esther had a child,” Steven told Mateo, making him go stiff. Mateo didn’t need to know anything else – he understood everything. He had the file open, but he slammed it shut and cursed loudly before he pushed the file back and angrily got on his feet.
