Where the Flowers Go
I looked at that young girl, fresh to the world, and after a pause, I told her,
"A man only realizes what he's lost when it's gone. He knew what I liked and did nothing. Now, it's too late. I won't settle for love that's overdue or a man that's less than I deserve, and neither should you."
Frank was still there, waiting at the foot of the building, as if he believed that his sheer persistence would eventually win me over.
I could not avoid him forever. I descended the stairs and beckoned Frank to join me at the nearby café.
"Go back home, Frank. Stop wasting your time. It's pointless."
He did not utter a word, just slid the lunch box he had brought closer to me, his eyes pleading.
I ignored
