A figure materialized in the circle. Tall, cloaked in shadows, with glowing red eyes. It looked like the dark figure from before, but different. More solid. More real. "Finally," it said in a voice that made my skin crawl. "I'm through."

I had to move fast. I turned through the pages of the spell book with shaky hands until I finally settled on what I was searching for. “Thrakos, Demon of the Underworld, Lord of Hell,” I whispered, my fingers tracing the forbidden verse. “He who commands the forbidden flames of the devil's domain,” my voice grew louder, desperation etched in my eyes, "I call thee, Thrakos. I summon thee to the mortal realm. Kneel before–” The sound of thunder cracking cut me short before I could complete my words. The ground began to rumble and the circle I had engraved on the ground expanded outwards as dark smoke clouded the entire place.

Just then, a thin blade pierce the summoner from behind. “What are you—?!” Their blood poured onto the gourd. The gourd started to absorb the blood. The summoner could do nothing but scream in agony as he was drained to a husk.

“Yes. She’s the connection between both sides. Without her, you can’t reach my Mom.” Gunnar let out a sharp breath, already losing patience. “No,” he said. “We’re not doing this.” Summer ignored him and kept going. “To reach her fully, a Satyre has to be involved too,” she said. “They’re the only ones who can summon someone from that realm and hold the connection long enough.” That word alone made the room tense again. Gunnar stepped forward. “Do you even understand what you’re saying?” he asked. “You’re bringing something like that here?”
