And we’ll be sending one ourselves to let them know you’re coming.” Serenya folded the map with care. “Why help me?” Mira shrugged. “We’ve all lost people. Whatever you’re chasing… if it helps stop the next bloodbath, then I’ll pave your road with gold if that’s what it takes.” At Crimson Pines, things changed. Crimson Pines was nestled near a highland lake, its moon-kissed waters reflecting stars like fireflies. The Alpha there—an older woman named Ayla—didn’t speak much at first. Just studied Serenya in silence, like a puzzle that didn’t quite fit.

Rakesh replied quietly. "To be fair," I said as my lips brushed Rakesh's neck again, sending shivers down his spine, "I wasn't really seeking blood at that point. I was still far too human." "But now you crave it?" Rakesh asked me as I released his arms to allow his hands to wander over my back. I gave a soft but confirming sound in my throat. It wasn't too strong currently, but I suspected that was only because I had just fed from Tudyr's neck. However, Rakesh's scent was wonderfully addictive and I couldn't help but want to taste him.

As she flipped through the pages of the musty, leather bound book he noticed had a peculiar group of interlocking circles on its cover, she expelled an enormous sigh combined with a groan and rested her elbows on the table top with her face buried in the palm of her hands. The room was quiet enough to hear a squirrel scurrying across the porch outside the open window. Catherine commands. Selene and another witch carries Brea between them and enter into the rift with some other witches even as Lord Bail screams in indignation and the cold ones throw themselves to their death inside the red smokescreen in huge droves. The rift closes as the last witch enters. The red smoke begins to recede slowly until it is just a few meters around Catherine, revealing the drained bony dead bodies of six witches on the floor beside her, and the two still standing beside her quivering hard in exertion.

Dim candlelight brightens the space and gives off a sweet scent. Pomona waves us into the room before fluttering off. I walk through the threshold and my feet sink into the moss-covered floor. Vega pushes past me bouncing into the room. She sniffs and hops around before settling on a couch. I laugh as the little dragon prances around the couch trying to get comfortable. Pulling my attention away from Vega I look around the room one last time. I throw my satchel onto the floor. Walking to the balcony I peer out at the moonlit garden below.

CRIMSON “Do you know the story of the bloody werewolf rogue that was killed by his alpha? Do you know about that rogue that was hated by all of his pack and all the other packs that no one wanted him at all? Are you familiar with the story, child?” an old woman asked me while giving me a serene smile on her lips.

Chapter 24. Subtitle: she is secretive. Crimson checked her reflection in the mirror one more time before stepping out of the room with her black purst in her hands, she whipped out her phone from her bag and made to dial Kevin's line again but her phone was suddenly snatched away by Steven.

After they headed toward the elevators, Regina glanced at the clock on the wall. Nearly noon. The day stretched ahead in predictable calm, and she let herself relax slightly, shoulders loosening. Then the email notification chimed softly on the computer screen. She turned, clicking it open absentmindedly. Subject: Crimson Hollow Alpha Convention — Full Capacity Booking Her stomach dropped so suddenly it felt like she’d missed a step on a staircase. She stared at the screen, the words blurring for a moment before snapping back into focus. Alpha Convention. Her pulse quickened, a cold ripple spreading through her chest.

She whispered. The words settled deep inside Serafina. Free. She wasn’t sure she understood what that felt like. As Martha wandered off to organize a shelf, Serafina’s gaze drifted across the room. One book caught her attention. Unlike the others, it rested alone inside a glass display case. Its cover bore the image of crimson moon surrounded by silver vines. Without thinking, she stepped closer. The memont her fingertips brushed the glass, a sharp pulse shot through her chest. Her vision blurred. For a heartbeat, she saw a magnificent castle beneath a blood red moon. A woman’s voice echoed through the darkness.

She smiled, “her wolf is one that needs a strong human, not just anyone can control Crimson.” My eyes darted to her and then back to the road, “Crimson, as in blood, fire and brimstone, that type of Crimson?” She sat up straight, “why would you think like that and not that it is just the color red.” I shrugged, “Angel remember, I always think that type of stuff first,” I gave her a shy smile. She nodded, “it doesn’t matter, Crimson is gone with her, unless she is now with someone who didn’t have a wolf.”
