Novel & Cerita The Deal Elle Kennedy

"Oh my goodness! Pardon my manners. I totally forgot. This is Christiana. She’ll be working with us to secure a new beauty partnership." My eyebrows lifted in pleasant surprise. "Really? We have another deal coming through?" "Of course we do!" Ellen flopped dramatically into a chair. "Do you have any idea how much I care about your business? I pulled every string, smiled at every sleazy executive, and pretended to be interested in face cream just for you!" I laughed. "Okay, okay, I’m impressed. Thank you." Ellen leaned forward, eyes narrowing mischievously. "But now, you and I have to make a deal."

I said finally. “Alright then.” He said, leaning forward slightly. “The wedding will be private. Just a handful of people who need to know. It’s better for everyone if we keep this quiet for now.” “Private.” I repeated, nodding. I wasn’t sure whether to feel relieved or insulted that this monumental moment in my life was being treated as a secret. “I’ve taken care of the logistics.” He continued. “The ceremony will be here at the estate. Afterward, we’ll introduce you to Clara as her stepmother.”

I asked, moving over from the landing and down the stairs as my hands gripped on to each handrail as my eyes focused on Kennedy. "He didn't say a thing. He only brought you over. I did hear you had an episode at work and you passed out." Kennedy said as his face twisted in a brief shift of amusement. "I heard he was in the middle of closing a deal and he caught wave that you passed out that he even ended the meeting to immediately be with you. How pathetic, Dropping everything for a woman, he's more hopeless than I thought." Kennedy said as his words suddenly became foreign to me. My head throbbed again and then I recalled what Penny said.

After all, he was someone who would work very hard to achieve his own dreams. However, he didn't know that he would have his dreams dashed after tomorrow. The next day, I was happily playing by the beach. When I got back to the shore, I realized that Aaron had called me at least a hundred times. Since he'd signed the divorce papers without giving me any trouble yesterday, I decided to play nice and return his calls. "Katrina Sanders, you evil witch! Didn't you say that we should end on a good note? Why did you have to go and play that video of Rachel and me just as we were about to get listed? The whole world has seen it! The company failed to get listed!"

Her auburn hair was coiled in a severe knot, but a few defiant strands had escaped, kissing the line of her jaw. “You wanted to see me, Alistair?” Her voice was calm, professional, but her eyes held a challenge. She never used “sir.” “Close the door, Elara.” He leaned back in his leather throne, steepling his fingers. “The Kensington deal.” “It’s on track. The papers are with legal.” “I’ve seen legal’s notes. They’re cautious. You, however, were not. Your direct negotiations with their CFO bypassed three layers of protocol.” His tone was a velvet-covered blade.

“No.” “It's Ezra Wilde. My celebrity crush. Can you imagine the two of us? The ‘Farm Girl Turned Icon' and the world's biggest hearth-throb. We'll be the new power couple. The internet will literally collapse.” Huh? Ezra who? I thought she had a crush on Andrew Ashford? I took a breath, trying to keep the vertigo that always lurked at the edges of my vision from taking hold. “It's a beautiful dream. But help me with the math. Those boots, that skirt, the five-thousand-dollar deposit for this ‘gig’... where did the money come from?”

"The deal is dead! He only trusts Felix!" News that the major deal had fallen through quickly reached upper management. Stella was called into the CEO's office and chewed out for half an hour. When she returned to her office, panic finally set in, and she asked a friend to find out where I had gone. A few minutes later, her friend sent a voice message, shock clear in every word. "Stella, your ex-husband is unbelievable. He didn't lose his job. Your biggest rival, Summit Realty, personally poached him! They brought him in directly as regional director, with a seven-figure salary plus profit sharing!"

How was it possible for a married woman to remain a virgin? Well, it was three years ago when a multibillionaire offered her a deal. It was a very tempting deal that she was not able to run away from. She agreed and married him for the thrill, the money, and his looks. He paid her to marry him so he could get his inheritance from his mother’s side. The thrill she was expecting died down as the years went on, but at least she enjoyed the money. He also called her every now and then, so she still got to enjoy his looks.

" Deal? Who the hell told him I had a deal with her? Miles was always attentive, so his finding out about the deal didn't shake me up. Still, I acted dumb. " what do you mean by the deal? " I filled my glass up with some red wine and gulp down half of it. " I meant, what's up with you and her being in a "relationship" out of the blue? Aren't we still consoling you over your divorce from Rachel?" Rachel. her name alone got the blood rushing to my head. " You should know that I've my fair share of pain with Rachel and since we are no longer married I thought it was time for me to move on since I believe she is doing the same too."

"You could watch the red carpet now." I pulled a small smile and swivel the chair in the direction of the projector. The presenter happens to be Angelina Cruz, the richest presenter in the country presently. I never asked for her to be there but her team sent us a message and they volunteered. I did nothing but asked Jewel to give them the go-ahead.
