The Deal Elle Kennedy Novels & Stories

"I ought to hate your guts on principle for nabbing one of the Ridge's most eligible bachelors, but it's hard to do that when you look so damned happy." "Thanks. I think." As Trish sauntered off to finish refilling ketchup bottles, Kennedy turned back to her conversation with her wedding planner. As talk shifted to bridesmaids dresses - oh hell, were those fabric swatches on his bar? - Denver flipped the channel of the nearest flatscreen to ESPN and turned up the volume a bit. Hopefully coverage of the College World Series would help offset the estrogen.

I took a deep breath and gave myself a small pep talk before I stood up "Um, okay hello everyone. My name is Mercedes and I'm a Media and International Relations major," I said as I sat down and released the breathe I didn't realize I was holding. After the whole introduction the group began their little talk as we got to know more about each other and laughed at the sleazy jokes everyone made particularly the guys. We were still in the middle of a playful argument of who was a better musician in between Black Atlass and Taylor Conrod when Kimberly spoke up

He snapped. “I’ve done my end of the bargain and that's marrying the senator's daughter and I expect you to play your part !” Stefan added. Silence… “Cut the crap man, you and I know I don't love her. The wedding arrangement was obviously for the public’s eye,” Stefan said. I felt a pang hit my chest, as I backed away for a bit at his harsh choice of words. And all I could recall was that I was hurt and my head throbbed like someone had shoved a jackhammer in there.

She exactly where her former room was and didn’t even hesitated in opening it. They entered her old bedroom before she took the remote that was sitting on the console table to turn on the tv. “What are you doing-“ “Watch,” She gestured. It was the news, a reporter was talking about her and Kai’s divorce! “The CEO of Laurent Estates, Kaizer Laurent and his wife Architect Ellyse Kennedy are divorced. This came as a surprise to many since Ellyse’s latest interview with Hush Magazine noted that both were on good terms, even stating how her husband is her inspiration to her craft,” Her jaw dropped, and before she could even react, Eliana already turned the TV off.

Abigail “Recently, I brought in a very lucrative client,” she said, voice growing bitter. “A big fish. It took months to court him. I spent weeks combing through his business goals, personal history, everything. When I finally convinced him to sign, I thought maybe, just maybe, I’d get some recognition.” I knew the client before she even said another word; Ross Delaney. Whatever had brought Elle to come cry in Lauren’s office, my recent talks with Delaney surely had a part to play in it.

Camelia POV My mouth dropped as the truth sank in. Everyone knows CASTLE - the conglomerate that owns shopping malls, estates, and pharmaceutical companies across the country, with branches spanning the globe. And I, Camelia, was in a contract marriage with the owner of this empire. My heart pounded loudly in my chest. I had been so focused on seizing the opportunity that I never stopped to consider who Henry really was… “It's alright,” the woman said, her voice calm this time around. She had to be surprised — but nowhere near as stunned as I was.

Elizabeth’s Point of View: It had been a week, and I was still trying to pick myself up. I knew walking out of Richard’s life was my choice, but it was the hardest thing I had ever done—harder because he didn’t even try to stop me. “Are you satisfied with the presentation, ma’am? If you are, I’ll go ahead and book the venue,” I asked my biggest client yet—an actress who had hired me to plan her wedding. “Yes, Elizabeth, I am,” she said, rising to her feet. “Everything is perfect. I can’t wait.” She extended her hand, and I took it with a smile.

for the next few months. We’d keep the public facade flawless, keep Harrington convinced I was in a committed, drama-free relationship. And behind closed doors… we could have this. No strings attached. And when the deal ends… we’ll only move on and go our separate ways. A knock on the door pulled me out of my thoughts before the door pushed open. It was Caden. He walked in, completely unbothered, his usual casual stride carrying him straight to the chair in front of my desk.

"I am the only reason you aren't currently rotting in a cell. I am the brain in this operation, Kennedy. You're just the signature on the checks. If you ever raise a hand to me again, I'll call the police myself and tell them I found a body in the garden." "You wouldn't," Kennedy panted, his eyes darting around the room like a trapped animal. "You'd go down too." Kennedy let out a manic, high-pitched giggle that made the hair on the back of Lilith's neck stand up. "Oh, no, darling. If we go down, we go down together. Hand in hand. Just like we planned. You want to expose me? Go ahead! I'll make sure the headlines read 'Billionaire Fraud and His Mistress Convicted of Murder.' It has a nice ri

“Do we have a deal?” Elaine hesitated. It would only be for a few weeks more, then she could finally be rid of this marriage. With a deep breath, she reached out and took his hand. “We have a deal.”
