If it ever did, he would dismiss it as a mere gossip. Marcus continued staring through the windows as the greenery rushed past them, while he turned back inwardly to something that was troubling his soul. His mind told him he had made a mistake. His ego told him that what he did was right. It was not every day that one got to deal with a witch, even if it was a little boy. That wouldn’t have been a problem if he had not nearly choked because the boy, Jason was looking at him. Dean had died soon after. Problem was he didn’t know how powerful the boy was.

Rows and rows of them. I clamped a hand over my mouth, muffling the scream that threatened to escape from my throat. Inside each tanks and soaked in the strange bubbly green liquid were men and women. Some looked human. Others were Outworlders—werewolves, vampires, ghouls. They were all naked. Their bodies were suspended in the thick green liquid and their eyes were wide open, as if frozen in an expression of silent horror. “What the hell?” I muttered in a shaky breath.

“We need you to be stronger than ever. We make our stand in this realm; once we win, all of the realms are ours.” She nodded. “You know what you have to do.” Geoffraine said and she raised her arms. The ground broke underneath them as The Dead crawled out from every hole and crevice, every male, female and unnnamed that ever lived and died in all the realms. Beasts that went extinct millions of years ago rose to fight once again and the end was inevitable. There was no fighting Death, there was only acceptance. The clash between the living and the dead nearly tore the realm apart.

I asked. She soon replied, "Who are they? I have never heard of their names. Are they your classmates?" "They're family." "Babe, is everything alright with you? You're an orphan!" They had truly vanished. They had been completely erased. It was as if they had never even existed in this world. A faint and dull ache throbbed in my chest, but a second later, I had forgotten why that was so. All I could remember was the fact that I had a system, and the apocalypse was coming soon.

David followed up with, “Bury the dead and follow us into the mountain to the healer's cabin, in there we will have a plan and we will gather allies for the war that would be coming upon us, make sure your loved ones make it safely through the abyss into the Underworld.” That was not much comfort to the troll.
