The Distance Between Us Movie Novels & Stories

There are definitely a lot of distances between us to which I have been turning a blind eye until now. Is it going to be just there forever? Or will there be any way to reduce it... Sudhir and Sanju just stared at me with shock faces and looking at the lipstick marks on his shirt, I don’t need anything else to know. You may have become my husband, but you made yourself as a stranger to me by forming this distance between us, and I am losing the little hope which I formed in the beginning slowly…. Probably I have actually lost it! I thought drifting off into sleep...

He raised his eyebrows at Elena amused. She quickly switched off the TV. "It's a funny movie, only this one scene is explicit" She waved it off. "Don't watch this movie" Liam smirked. "Sure!" He looked around the room and noticed one thing which made him clench his jaw again. Elena gulped when she saw that he noticed.

I didn't know how he had managed it but he had put the movie we were going to watch on and had the beginning paused, waiting for me. “Here are your crackers and water and my popcorn and cola.” I teased and he rolled his eyes, grabbing the plate of crackers and the bottle of water from me. I sat on the sofa and he stretched out his hand but I ignored it and scooted to the far end. I could feel his gaze on me but I refused to look at him. We needed to keep our distance from each other. Things wouldn't end well if we did otherwise. That much, I knew. “Really? A horror movie?!” I screeched when the Zombies came on the screen.

“Come on, let’s go check it out.” I grabbed my jacket off the chair. Didn’t bother with the rest of the laces. “You call the coast guard?” “Already did. 40 minutes out.” He was already at the door, hoodie in his hand. “Said they’d send someone but...” He didn’t finish. He didn’t have to. 40 minutes was too long. We went down the stairs fast. Too fast. The wood creaked under our weight like it always did at 5am. Like the house was annoyed we were awake.

The table went still. "Ninety seconds after you went out my back door two weeks ago the bond put you on your knees in the leaves. Forty feet." He kept his voice level. "The circle closed. Whatever that changed, it didn't change the distance, because there hasn't been a day since where we've been more than a mile apart to test it." He looked at her. "If you drive east and it's still forty feet, you go down on the highway somewhere in Idaho and you don't get up." "Then you come with me."

I say and Robert sighs loudly, as if something is wrong. I turn towards him and I ask. “Is there something wrong?” My voice is soft. “Well, I just feel like we are not spending as much time together as before. I feel distant from you.” He says and I stare at him. “Robert, we just escaped from America on a jet plane you never knew you had. We had to crash land illegally on an old airfield. We then had to escape the British police. I don’t think we had enough time to spend together even if we wanted to.” I explain and he shrugs.

No longer in the living room. “What of Diamond? Is she not yet back?” I ask. Annie doesn't answer me. I know she heard me, but the movie appears to be much more important than our conversation. So, I decide to respect her decision and watch the TV instead. Minutes later, the credits roll, and she sinks into the couch, sighing with relief. “The writer of this movie have sense,” she says. “I'd have slapped him/her... It's even a him sef,” — she adds when she sees the name of the writer — “I'd have slapped him if they didn't end up together.”

“Thank you again for everything you’re doing. It’s clear my grandmother is in good hands.” After he disappeared down the hallway, Anne stood in the entrance with Jeff, both of them maintaining careful distance from each other. The moment felt charged with something unspoken, with the awareness that they’d just crossed a threshold they couldn’t uncross. Mike had arrived, and the household dynamics had shifted in ways they were only beginning to understand.

The quiet tension in the office had become its own living, breathing thing. For the first two days after their return, Isabelle and Damian maintained a perfect, professional distance. They communicated through emails, despite being in adjacent offices. They spoke in hushed, businesslike tones during project reviews. The wall was up. But every so often, the facade would crack, a brief, silent admission of what had passed between them in the storm.

“You don’t have to act tough with me.” My chest ached. For one wild second, I thought he was going to kiss me. I panicked. “I—I need air.” I turned and walked away, my steps quick. --- The music was louder near the cars. The fire’s glow was dim behind me. I pulled out my phone to distract myself. A message lit up the screen. Unknown number. “You shouldn't be here” My hands shook. Is someone watching me??
