Morgan walked into The Karston Foundation Friday morning with the goal of getting Jacqui Karston out on a date. He had been dwelling about it since Wednesday afternoon, and finally decided to just go for it. His life needed some challenge in it, at the moment. It was going to be a risk, of course, keeping her from running to Neal about his inappropriate employee, but that was part of the game. It was a rush to do what you know you shouldn't do. Besides, with Dustin back in Orlando and Erin, his usual distraction, not around, he needed something new to keep him entertained. Morgan didn't do boredom too well. He didn't do it at all, actually.

“What if she—” “Don’t you get it, Ryder?” Morgan cut me off, voice low and dripping with contempt. “Eliza is a distraction. She’s nothing but a pawn in this game—one that I can sacrifice if it means achieving my true goal. I’ve wasted enough time tiptoeing around her precious royal status. It’s time to show everyone who truly commands the power in this realm.” I clenched my fists, anger flaring inside me. Morgan’s arrogance had always grated on my nerves, but this—this was reckless. “If you think you can just run amok without consequences, you are sorely mistaken.”

“I kinda assumed so from meeting her. Not that she was stuck-up or anything. She had a lot of designer items.” “Oh, I guess.” I turn down the main street that runs through Eastwood. “I don’t pay attention to that stuff. And she is, so you weren’t wrong. And yeah…I guess that’s the worst of it. Maggie’s fiancé is my brother Morgan’s best friend. There was some drama there for a while, but everyone is over it.” “Ohhh, falling for her older brother’s best friend. That is good drama.” “And Morgan’s wife is kind of a…a…” I trail off, not wanting to badmouth family. “A bitch?” Elizabeth finishes for me, mouthing the word so Edward doesn’t hear. “You said it, not me, But yes.”

So I walked downstairs and Morgan was there riffling through a few boxes that we had stacked up against the back wall. “What are you doing?” I asked. “That girl. She was headed for the packhouse. The rest were there to distract us. I’ve been watching the surveillance tapes from that night. And I know that they were distracting us while she came for the packhouse.” Morgan said. “You think she was after something.” I said. “There’s only one thing that she could have been after.” Morgan said, getting to the bottom box and she opened it and threw the newspaper and everything out of the way.

“Also, coincidental that you are taking off right after Morgan was found dead.” “That’s enough, Liz,” King Bennet said sharply. “We’ve already spoken and I’ve ruled both he and Alpha Aiden out.” Elizabeth scowled. “Maybe she’s blocking you from seeing,” Elizabeth said, narrowing her deep blue eyes at him. I pressed my lips together in a thin line. “If I wanted Morgan dead, she would have been long ago,” I snapped. Aiden put his hand on my leg to settle me down and at that moment, I realized I was shaking. Something about Queen Elizabeth just made me so mad and the way Jenna was glaring at me while she ate her food made me feel uneasy.

Pushing aside the unpleasantness Calvin had brought, Adriana savored the post-rain tranquility. Calvin slowed his pace slightly. Once Adriana had walked a good distance ahead, he pulled out his phone and dialed a number. “Found anything?” He hadn’t been idle under the covers; he had already instructed Kevin to investigate who had injured Adriana. “We found it,” Kevin reported. “Morgan was the one who attacked Miss Adriana. She’s the lawyer handling contract disputes. Secretary Lisa said Morgan and Miss Adriana had a verbal altercation on the bus ride here. Morgan has privately gossiped about Miss Adriana’s frequent visits to the legal department.”

"You said you'd be coming so dad and I are waiting." "You seem to be pacing." The woman said to her. "Yeah..." She giggled nervously. "It's just to clear my head before I get back to work. " "How do you love it. The work?" "It's a whole lot of stress." She said. "I really don't get how Morgan was ale to pull all of these off and still grow the country to it's whooping level." At the sound of Morgan's name, the three of them rolled their eyes with the woman's daughter scoffing softly.

She was about to return to the party, as several minutes had passed, and she had received several W******p messages from Lorena, to which she only replied: “Just entertain him.” Her friend had let her know, through her phone messages, that she was about to take Joe out of the place with the club's security men. But that would be like detonating a bomb because the man would have a fit of rage that would end it all. Morgana took a deep breath to cheer herself up and went in search of her friends. It wasn't long before she found them. She was thankful that Joe's back was turned. “That new project you have, Graham. It's one of the best I've seen in a long time”.

Relived with the incoming distraction, I then grab my coat, packing my hair in a bun as I step out. Few minutes later.... As I step into the cafe, bustling with people going in and out. I then search around looking for Morgan's familiar face then I spot an unexpected face. With a definitely new look, her once long glorious blonde mane now cut short in a bob. Her phony smile and look now replaced with a cool and collected unreadable expression. As my eyes meet hers she inclines her head indicating I come sit. “Oh Crap” “I'm supposed to meet Morgan here not her”I muster quitely , as I debate whether to proceed or just run back to my cave. Then I thought....

She mumbled, her head bent as she stared hard at the stone floor. ** It was finally the day of the ritual, and Morgana began her spiritual cleansing. Morgana, her voice low and hypnotic, spoke of ancient traditions, of energies which could hinder a kingdom even if it's a powerful one. “A leader’s strength,” she said, “is filled with distractions—internal and external.” As she spoke, her gaze drifted slowly to Elise, standing at the edge of the crowd. “Elise,” someone in the pack whispered, “she’s the distraction.”
