-00- Eden woke up in the middle of the night with cold sweat dripping down her forehead. Just now she had a bad dream about her illness and scared her to death. She then turned her head to the side, where Aciel was currently fast asleep with a peaceful face. Eden slowly reached out her hand to caress Aciel's face while smiling faintly at the man. As a wife and mother, she is not ready to leave the people she loves. She still wants to live with her little family for decades to come and watch her two children grow up. But now she can't really hope for a happy ending from her little life because right now there is a cancer that could at any moment separate her from life with her little family.

God, where is he? I peeked out from behind the wall but saw nothing. Just shadows and red glow. I stepped out slowly, looking left, then right, my nipples tightand my skin prickling with anticipation. The room was dead silent except for my shallow breaths. Tension coiled tighter in my belly, desire so sharp it hurt. Come on… where the fuck are you? A sudden noise echoed from somewhere deep in the maze. Clang. My cuffed hands made balance awkward, but I ran anyway with desperate, stumbling steps that only heightened the thrill.

Are you busy?” I opened the door hastily as I answered, “No, I was just reading some boring stuff. Where are you going, brother?”

With that, Eden flicked her finger and immediately removed a layer of Laudes' clothing. She moved quickly and instantly removed all the clothes that Laudes was wearing, leaving nothing behind.

He went to the ensuite bathroom and washed up then got dressed in his mothers pyajama’s and went down stairs. He smiled when he saw Runar was asleep in Kaeden’s arms and took a picture with Alexander’s cellphone that he swiped before coming downstairs. He looked at the picture and shook his head amused, he leaned down and kissed Runar on his pouted lips then went to the kitchen and saw that there was a jar of brownies on the kitchen island. “We follow it.” Raven’s hand slipped into his, a sign of solidarity. The world outside might still burn, but here, among the smoke and velvet, they’d drawn their line. Jaxon looked at Raven, then at the men who’d survived. “Eden stands,” he said. And somewhere, in the distance beyond the storm, Evelyn Morreau smiled, because she’d seen exactly what she wanted: not defeat, but the birth of something monstrous. The music had died hours ago. What remained of Club Eden was a hollow echo, champagne stains on marble, glass glittering like shrapnel, velvet curtains torn from the walls. CHAPTER 1 Eden . . The cell’s air was stale and the dim light cast its weak hue on my broken body shackled in chains, the cold metal biting into my skin.
