The Emperor returned her gaze for several moments before speaking again, his voice quieter but firm. “After marriage, she carries not only my name, but my entire life as well.” Those words instantly made Roxanne’s eyes burn. She truly had not expected her father to say something like that in front of everyone. All this time, Roxanne had believed she was merely a daughter whose existence was no longer greatly desired after the death of the Empress. "Mairwen will never forgive you if you send Renat away." Devrim felt cornered. "Why is everyone against me?" This was only to his daughter. Aurora received a slightly different reply.
