The First Book Novels & Stories

Their paw prints were stamped onto the page beside it. Wolves, Bears and Lions had been the first three, but the image showed a fourth beneath the three enormous prints. It was a Fox print. "Foxen were the first kind created by the Goddess," Dan read, his finger trailing the writing that topped the page in Lycan. "The following Shifters designed after, to protect the Goddesses most precious gift to her creations." I giggled. "It doesn't say that. Lycan is a dead language." I didn't know much, but I knew that. It was the Shifter equivalent to Latin.

The door creaks as it opens. “Hello?” I call as I walk inside. Bookshelves form long aisle ways throughout the building, from floor to ceiling. They are covered in dusty books with spines of varying sizes and colors. If I walked into this building for any other reason, I might have enjoyed my visit. I love the must and smell of old books, and the feel of book pages between my fingers. Unfortunately, I am here for a darker purpose than shopping, so I continued farther into the building. “Over here, Mrs. Graham,” a woman’s voice says to my right. I follow it, ducking between the stacks.

When he lifted his head, his eyes still held a faint red glow that faded as I stared. He spoke aloud this time. His voice was the same one that had entered my mind, rough from centuries of silence. “My name is Drake Cole. I was the first Alpha of these lands. Your royal line locked me here five hundred years ago and told the world I was a mindless beast that needed blood to stay sleeping.” I stared at him. The chains felt heavier. “That is not possible. The First Alpha died. Everyone knows the story. He went mad and the founders put him down to save the packs.”

No longer able to slip my finger over the backs of the books for fear I might touch something else I didn’t want to know about, I tried to read some of the titles, but I could see these books had been handled a lot. I wondered where they would have been stored in the library and who would have spent so much time reading them. I found one that had to do with the history of the first beast and made sure the cover was animal before I pulled it out. I could deal with animal leather. Finding a seat, I made myself comfortable and started reading the account of one of the royal council members. “September 15th, 1789

It wasn’t male either. It was both. And neither. And it knew him. He slammed the book shut. The flames on the torches flickered. > “Someone’s protecting her. Someone older than any of us.” Alex turned to leave—but before he did, he noticed one book... tucked deep into the wall, half-hidden behind a cracked obsidian skull. Its title glowed faintly: “The First-born Flame: Records of the One Who Watched the Moon.” He reached for it. But the moment his fingertips touched the leather, the runes around the library pulsed—and the book… vanished.

he said kindly. She immediately said in nervousness, “Thank you, but you don't have to do that for me. I took this book because I had never seen a book like this before. May I ask you what book is this?” “This is a medieval history book about the first crusades. I have seen with my own eyes humans kill and slaughter their own kind for something they believe in. That’s very interesting, and that’s why I wrote this book,” he said and smiled. She furrowed her brows in thought. “Seen?” she asked in her mind curiously.

I suggested, showing her the page. “No!” she shouted. I sighed. That was one of my favorites, because it told of the first beta, and I always thought of mine and Reid’s friendship. I flipped through the book some more until I ended up back at the very beginning. The first story, the story of our origins. “‘The First of the Wolves’?” I asked, peeking at her from the corner of my eye. Her eyes lit up, but then she forced a frown. However, it was too late. I had already seen her excitement.

I softly smiled at them and closed the door. With Frederick assisting Uncle, I was left alone to wander around the house, and what better way to kill the time than to read books. So, my main target was finding the library. After a few dead-ends, I finally found what I was looking for. There's no surprise, the library was huge as well. I trailed my hands on the hard-bound books. Novels, grimoires, Shakespeare, Edgar Allan Poe, Emily Dickinson.

CHAPTER 4(THE FIRST ONE)- TITTLE: Zander Mansion Soon, it's morning, and thanks to last night I had a rough sleep, and you know, when people say they woke on the wrong side of the bed, they are just trying to tell you they are mad. Well, I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, like literally, I woke up on the floor and not on my bed, and I would like to know why, but unfortunately, you just can’t see in your sleep.

Then I saw a title that made me stop. FIRST WITCH I pulled the book from the shelf. The moment I touched it, warmth spread through my fingers. Knox stepped closer. “What is it?” “I don’t know.” I opened it. The first page immediately began glowing. Then the words appeared. Before the wolves had a world of their own, there was only one world. I turned the page and images appeared, a world unlike anything I’d ever imagined. Dragons flew through the sky and giants walked across mountains. Witches practiced magic and fairies and trolls lived among the flowers even demons moved through dark lands.
