[1st month of book release date] Abigail's pov - I sat in my cozy study, surrounded by the comforting embrace of books lining the shelves. Soft light spilled from the desk lamp, casting a warm glow on the worn pages of my notebook. The success of "Fragrance of Love" had brought a whirlwind of emotions, and I found myself lost in contemplation, reflecting on the unexpected journey my life had taken.

She pats her abdomen for emphasis. Once she closes the door to her room behind her, she finds herself pacing back and forth, desperate for something to do. She can't seem to sit for too long. ‘Yes, madam,’ she replied in a tone barely respectful. ‘Millicent, while you are waiting, read that.’ She turned the copy of she had been reading, on its head and pushed it across the table, scattering her breakfast crockery and nearly tipping the milk jug over. I rescued the milk and then studied the open pages for some time. I couldn’t concentrate. What was I supposed to be reading? ‘You’ve lost me. It’s mainly ads for high-class plant nurseries, horse tackle and nanny agencies.’

Gloria turned red with embarrassment, feeling utterly humiliated. Some people are like that, easily accepting someone worse than themselves but struggling to admit someone better than them. One of the other women in the group asked in confirmation by addressing Eva by one of the nicknames she was given. “Who else if not her?" The first lady replied, her eyes sparkling with gossip. “I thought that venomous woman was dead or something?" A lady in the group suddenly chirped into the conversation, making the other women turn their heads to look at her with a surprised look on their faces. It was obvious that they were all taken aback by her words.
