Alexia looked up at Melvin, to see if he was displeased or uncomfortable by her being called 'big sis', but her expression was immediately sore when she noticed Melvin wasn't even paying any attention to her, Melvin's gaze was directed down towards where a stood, when I locked eye contact with him, I wanted to move my eyes away from his, but it was impossible because every time I locked my eyes with his, attempting to unlock myself from such gaze has always been futile because I never seemed to have the heart to do such.

I frowned. “Okay… we need a sequence, but it keeps changing.” Fred studied it. “We need to communicate and watch carefully. Each press affects the next number.” We started experimenting, calling out numbers, adjusting based on trial and error. The tension built with every wrong press, the box let out a loud beep, warning us of failure. My hands shook as I pressed a button, and it clicked correctly. Slowly, painstakingly, we solved the sequence.

"They were eyewitness accounts." A chill raced through Ava. Before she could ask another question, a thunderous pulse erupted from the chasm. The First Human finally spoke, its voice echoing through every connected mind on Earth. It didn’t manifest as words, but as pure understanding. As memory. *I WAS NOT THE FIRST.*

The room became still again. Even Victor stopped moving. Selene looked past Aurelia for a second—toward Victor, toward Marcus, toward the ruined doorway—as though deciding which truth mattered most before death.
