I have too many questions that running through my mind but I just brush it off. We came closer to him and my manager has this stupid creepy smile on his face. "Good afternoon Mr. Sebastian" my manager greeted him and I just looking at them. Zeus looked at us but more like looking at me. He stands up at the sofa and greeted back. "Good afternoon" He politely greeted us, but he is not smiling. He still cute though. "By the way, He is Matthew Styles and he will gonna be your best friend in the series. So you have to get along." My manager explains again.

Silence followed—heavy, suffocating. Then Autumn said quietly, “It showed me a city.” The revenant went still. “Glass and fire?” She nodded once. “And a girl. Me. Crowned. Alone—but not.” Lady Vesper rose, her gown bleeding shadow across the marble. “Then the prophecy has turned.” The psychic’s voice barely carried. “Mara was the first thread. You… are the needle.” Autumn stepped back despite herself, pulse thudding in her ears. “I don’t want to rule the Hollow.”

Their paw prints were stamped onto the page beside it. Wolves, Bears and Lions had been the first three, but the image showed a fourth beneath the three enormous prints. It was a Fox print. "Foxen were the first kind created by the Goddess," Dan read, his finger trailing the writing that topped the page in Lycan. "The following Shifters designed after, to protect the Goddesses most precious gift to her creations." I giggled. "It doesn't say that. Lycan is a dead language." I didn't know much, but I knew that. It was the Shifter equivalent to Latin.

The primal symphony of snarls, growls, and yelps echoed through the narrow alleyways, creating a cacophony of primal fury. As Brianna cautiously opened her eyes, she witnessed the Alpha’s power in action. His movements were a dance of lethal precision. Each strike was calculated to subdue the rogues who had threatened her. The rogue leader, seemingly aware that they mess with the wrong wolf, attempted to retreat, but the Alpha pursued relentlessly, and he immediately chased him. “Ah—I’m so sorry, Alpha! I didn’t know that the Omega was yours. P-Please, spar—ACKH!!!”

Life continuing exactly as it always had, unaware or unwilling to notice that something had already shifted beneath it. The passage behind the tapestry of the Moon Goddess was exactly where I remembered it. I pushed it open and stepped into the narrow corridor that led toward the servants’ routes, already thinking in structure instead of emotion, in distance instead of consequence. For the first time since waking up in that room, something inside me eased. I was going to make it. That was when the far door opened. A servant stepped through carrying an empty tray. He stopped the moment he saw me. Recognition came first, then confusion, then alarm.

Which tells me I’m missing something important. Again. “Explain,” I say. Aidan doesn’t look away from the projection. “It’s not just movement,” he says. “It’s relational.” I blink. “…That doesn’t help.” Ezra speaks this time. “It’s not where it moves,” he says. “It’s how it moves relative to previous positions.” I stare at him. “…Still not helping.” Aidan exhales softly. “It’s building a sequence,” he says. “Each shift depends on the one before it.”

“Are you ready to engage?” I met his gaze, determination steadying me. “I’ve been ready since the first node. The nexus is just the next step.” The activation sequence began. Subtle lights pulsed along the nodes, signaling that the commands were being received. Feedback loops intertwined with one another, shifting and adapting as we adjusted parameters. Every response was instantaneous, but the complexity was staggering. I traced each signal with care, analyzing the flow of information, the responses, and the subtle resistances. Some nodes reacted immediately, others hesitated, and a few diverged slightly, testing our influence.

The Ancient’s gaze shifted toward the horizon. The one before us. My breath caught. Before them? That shouldn’t be possible. What does it want? I asked. The answer came slowly. Reluctantly. You. Of course it did. Everything did lately. I pushed myself to stand, ignoring the burn in my arm. Then it can come find me. The ground trembled. Not violently. But enough to remind us it already was. The First doesn’t send a message it sends a fragment of itself… and it begins destroying everything in its path.

the man barked. Another pulse hit and suddenly, I saw her. Not physically. Just a vision. Lena standing surrounded by silver masked figures kneeling before her. The Origin Sequence. The words slammed into my skull hard enough to nearly drop me to the ground again. “No…” the man whispered beside me. He saw it too. “What is the Origin Sequence?” I demanded. But his expression had gone pale. Terrified. “That is impossible.” “Tell me!” He looked at me slowly. “The Origin Sequence was the first consciousness the system was built around.”
