The fourth book requires something the previous three did not. She has been writing for fourteen months, since February of the previous year, when the argument sentence arrived. In those fourteen months, she has written forty-seven entries, read them all multiple times, and understood one thing clearly: the fourth book cannot be written from the position of the practitioner describing the practice. It must be written from the position of the person living inside the thing being described. The first book was the practice named. She was outside it enough to describe it.

The fourth book will be the argument that the learning was correct. ---

Fiona’s POV Under the eerily soft glow light coming from the glass vial of the potion, my trembling fingers traced the intricate words of the ancient book before closing, sealing off centuries of secrets, prophecies and warning. The four alphas all had pensive frowns on their faces that individually mirrored my own internal turmoil. It was a diffi6feat to see them shaken, and I’ll admit, I had seen them at some point as nearly God-like. Seeing the despair they tried so hard to mask, stabbed fear into my heart.

At my order, a funeral procession suddenly erupted, carrying funeral wreaths on the red wedding carpet. Some sang, while some were waiting. The whole ceremony turned chaotic in an instant. Fabian’s face turned ashen, and he hurriedly ordered his men to dismiss the procession. Looking thrilled, the florist owner came to me and said, “Mr. Hunt, all your wreaths have been delivered. I’ve even thrown in the full-service package. Are you satisfied?” I couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
