I look at the book in front of me titled " we are more than friends " Weird title, its more weird that she have it to me. I look in her direction to catch her staring at me. She smiled at me again. With my lips in a thin line, I turn the first page of the book. " there you are psycho!! " I heard after the book in my hands was snatched away from me. I looked up to meet a very furious looking Alex. Oops I must have over read and forgotten the time. " hey " I said and I stood up from the floor and dusted my skirt before looking back at Alex again.

He said, bluntly, then turned his stare away from her face. "So, Logan huh?" Becky too knew it wasn't working out. "Fuck!" She lowered her head and whispered under her breath as she got no reply from him. But he heard her. "Fuck?" He asked with bright eyes—they were definitely blue. "Oh, nothing. It's just," she said, then bursted out like the parrot that she was. "I'm like here on my own even though it's my birthday, because my stupid friend couldn't make it—she had a date at Paris with her new boo—and I was just hoping I could have at least some fun--"

As he turned a corner, his heart lifted at the sight of his group of friends – Mark, Jake, and Emily. Their laughter was infectious, and it seemed as if they had been waiting for him. "Lucas, you're finally back!" Mark exclaimed, his face breaking into a wide grin. "Yeah, we've been missing our resident bookworm and strategist," added Jake, playfully nudging Lucas.
