he said without looking at me.
I didn’t.
I wasn’t here to play obedient son.
“What do you want?” I snapped.
He finally turned, his eyes cold, calculating — the same way he looked at business deals, enemies, and bloodlines. Never me as a son. Always a weapon. A pawn.
“I’ve made a decision,” he said. “You will marry Hayley Foster before the end of this quarter.”
My jaw clenched so hard I felt something crack behind my teeth.
