In a single look, one would instantaneously wonder why Akira was in any way associated with this person. “Really? Windows down in Manila while wearing that?” Akira flashed a grin and took one last hit at the cigarette between her fingers, before throwing it on the asphalt and putting the light out with the sole of her boot. “It’s fine, I have a gun in the glove compartment,” she stated plainly and pocketed her keys after closing her car windows. “Kidding.” Akira scoffed in response and shook her head. “But I do have a baseball bat under the shotgun seat.”

The mansion appeared abandoned, and the glamour of the place appeared to laugh at her weak situation. Isabella’s heart beat hard as she turned to the grand staircase for the support of its railing. This was the first time she had visited such a place. The luxurious chandeliers bathe the ocean of perfectly dressed folks below in a warm light; the women, flowers in black, shining like the heavens; the men, as sharp as suits can ever be, whispering a promise of power and wealth. The classical music permeated through the air, a deception scheme of sophistication. This wasn't her world; it became the playground of the mafia elite. But here's the thing about the mafia, they'll always find you when they need to... no matter where you hide." He paused briefly when he saw Louisa shiver at his ominous tone, but she signalled for him to continue, and so he did.

However, Dad was much calmer than he had been before. He stared into the distance, his eyes unreadable. Soon, the day of the exchange arrived. Yannis accompanied him to an abandoned warehouse. As instructed, Dad only had to slip the agreement under the door of the warehouse and leave. Just as they turned to leave, Dad struck Yannis, knocking him unconscious. I was stunned for a moment. I watched as Dad kicked open the old, decrepit door of the warehouse and dragged Yannis in.

To clear the path, he had even sent my parents far away. Just then, my phone buzzed with a text. [Liana, are you okay? Zack made us leave out of the blue today. Leave everything else to me.]
